Enjoying it as much as usual, still can't defend for shit though and 0-5 in first UT H2H season largely down to this. Three of those games were close, losing by 2 points in one and 3 in the other two, got smashed in the other two games though. No doubt fortunes will change when I've played it more, but still massively frustrating at times, especially when you're a FG down and your opponent decides to play clock management in 4 minute quarter games.

More than previous versions I'm toying with the rushing game on this with mixed results so far, confident when I get a decent RB in UT I can make it work though.

Playing through the journey on UT now, as my internet has messed up on madden for whatever reason so I can't play online games without disconnecting. I am on challenge 88 of 160 and only 17 away from my first elite player however it's on all pro difficulty so can be frustrating on defence. Especially the recover from 10+ points games.

80 OVR team now, but have 68k and building coins up for now so hopefully should hit 100k soon. Be quick probably because I have a red box opening on the 9/9, hoping it's an elite player pack.

28-7 against some dude with Cowboys uniforms. He/she scored from a KO return straight off, thought I was in for another pasting but they were shit, grinded out 4 heavy rush drives and came away with an easy win in the end, happy days.

Who do the contracts work on this now? I try not to play Madden as it becomes all consuming. Plus it irks me that they still have barely eclipsed Sega 2K5 as a game despite killing that and every other game off with its license buyout bullshit. I did enjoy a couple of seasons on 15 though after it was put in the EA vault.

Can't say I get overly involved with all the back room stuff personally. Set my line-ups and tactics and leave the rest.

I'm 4-2 in my second H2H season right now, so I only need one more win to progress to the playoffs. Just got smashed 35-14 in my last game though by someone with a 54 rated Jerry Lovelocke as their QB, he passed for 119 yards and 2 TD's, but more annoyingly rushed for 173 yards and a TD, I've rage turned the PS off for a bit.

Just some info for anyone planning to run the journey solos or the gauntlet, few things that'll be really useful to help finish them quick as they are frustrating sometimes.

1. When on the screen before the solo starts, make sure you have accel clock on and play clock to its lowest setting, 10 seconds. This gets rid of the clock as fast as possible so you can calculate when to score so the computer can't return after.

2. Get Dri Archer as your HB, 96 speed and incredible acceleration too. You get him free in one of the first few journey packs.

3. You want a playbook with strong close formation, I was lucky by pulling a saints offensive playbook which goes for a few thousand but a few others have the formation too which are cheaper. All you want to run is quick toss, normally gets 5+ yards per play as long as you drag your HB to the outside and run round the coverage. If you get to 3rd and long (which sometimes you will) play a verticals pass which works the huge majority of the time. Quick toss also woks very well on 2-pt conversions.

If you're doing that on offence you'll get a TD almost every time and calculating it so that the computer cannot get a score is even better. For defence you want to guess play (L2/LB) and up/down on the right hand stick, spread the coverage (L2/LB) and up on the left stick and choose whether you want overtop or underneath coverage depending on where the computer is. You do this by clicking the top button on the right (Triangle on PS4) and up or down on the right stick.

Doing this i am now at challenge 108/160 of the journey which you really should do, if you complete it all you get 7 free elite players and some good packs too. It does get frustrating but it's worth it considering the rewards

Ultimate packs on on UT, 200k for 14 golds or above and 1 guaranteed elite. Absolutely destroyed the market already

Some pretty nice TOTW options, Aaron Donald TOTW hero with a 90 rated DT card, will be one the very best in the game right now and the limited in packs hero is Keenan Allen 91 WR which is a nice addition to an ever-growing list of good recivers. Julio Jones gets the 24 FO hero which will be massive, that will destroy a lot of defenses now

The other elite TOTW players look good too, pulled Josh Norman 85 CB in a free pack but sold for 29k, will probably buy back cheaper as he is apparently really good. Have around 230-240k depending on what stuff I sold and hoping to build that more soon

Like the pheasant I am, I bought an X Factor pact for 1,500 points. You get 12 golds or better, 3 silvers or better and an elite badge.

I'm on Ultimate on madden 16 and I went on to my line up, and then clicked on 'generate best line up' and it basically removed all my best players from their position and now they're back up, it's because they don't have any contracts. I know how to give starters contracts but how do I give back ups contracts?

Select them separately and there is an option on them to add contracts, bit slow and boring but gets the contracts on.

Not posted here for a while actually, managed to build up just over 1 million coins and sitting on a budget squad now, waiting to take advantage of RTTP and Thanksgiving promo. Also, if you can ever afford him, just buy Flashback DeSean Jackson, please.

No, go on to your item binder and sort players by OVR (R2 for sort) and then once hovering over the player you want contracts on, select X and the option to add contacts should be there

It's one of the best ways to learn the rules and whatnot mate. Fun games too. Maybe see if you can get an older version second hand if your're not sure you'll like it. I don't think the game play changes that much between them (does it, guys?) and you'll still learn GRIDIRON.

I was in your situation last Christmas and now I love the game so I'd agree it is a great idea. Similar to FIFA ultimate team and the other game modes however of course the gameplay is different and also UT is somewhat different in how it is set up but I think it's great
