No idea if it will happen but you'd expect we're unlikely to have 3 left backs. Can't see Bryan leaving, therefore Golbourne in line for the chopping block.

Unless Bryan going back to the midfield.

Players like Richards and Lescott who previously had good track records in the PL were shite for you mind.

Pretty sure Villa just signed over the hill/shite players rather than ruined any.

^

Richards was ruined before we got our hands on him too, I point you to his loan move at Fiorentina.

Point stands though, more so with Lescott perhaps. Richardson's played 260 times in the top flight, must have had something about him at some stage, hopefully he shows that here. We'll see.

2 deals about to be completed, both players were at our training ground today for medicals.

Romain Saiss, a defensive midfielder from Angers will sign for 3.4m.

The other is Paul Glandon, a Dutch 24 year old striker from Heracles for 1.2m. He gained international recognition last week for missing 2 penalties against Willem II inside 1 minute. Bare in mind we have already missed 2 penalties this season this guy will fit in well :ffs:

So much to signing Luisao, Balotelli and Talisca

Talisca definitely not happening now then?

Armstrong just signed a 4 year extension and Krul just left for Ajax on loan after signing a one year extension himself.

Hoping that contract extension for Armstrong is ahead of him signing a loan deal with us.

Judge deal seems to be one that will rumble on until January, nothing will be decided now.

We're apparently very close to two signings, one on a perm, one on loan. The loan will either be Armstrong or Chris Willock from Arsenal. No idea at all who the permanent signing will be.

Neither will be signed in time to play on the weekend, but should be in early next week.

I hope so to be honest. I really want to see Armstrong do well this year and he won't get enough game time this year with us.

He also needs to be at this level though so he can kick on.

You seem very keen to sell him!

Given we've never been linked to him, I'd say none of the pieces fit haha!

We put quite a lot of stock in a players character, so that would rule him out I'd think from the few random things I've heard on this forum!

Also, they'll both definitely be wingers, maybe one of them a forward. Got enough central attacking mids.

Nah mate, he is about to, or maybe he already has signed for Besikas on a 2 year loan deal.

His agent has basically spent 3 weeks shouting 'We'll do it, we'll sign for Wolves, We will, you other clubs better sort your bids out, WOLVES he'll sign for, are you listening other clubs, WOLVES!"

Heard he came with a bag of pears thrown in to sweeten the deal.

Talking of central attacking mids? How are Sawyers and Ledesma going?

Sawyers has shown a few really good moments so far. Need to see more but been impressed with what I have seen at least. He certainly has an eye for a pass, and can change the point of an attack very well. He's very lethargic though, and needs to contribute a bit more on the defensive side.

Ledesma looks fine, but I wouldn't want to see him as a frequently used option. Too slow to get past defences, which is really what we need on the wing. If he cuts back too often, the ball just gets fed back into the middle of the park, where it spends most of its time anyway. Our wingers need to have a bit of pace, and be able to deliver some good crosses / chip in with goals. He seems to be a bit short on all of them, wouldn't be surprised if our other targets fell through and he got a one year deal though. He seems to have impressed in a couple of cameos I haven't seen.

West Ham knocked out of the Europa League tonight, which pretty much guarantees that Reece Burke will be going out on loan to a Championship club. Considering we were linked with him earlier in the window, I'd be shocked and disappointed if we haven't asked the question to West Ham with our current defensive issues. We can't compete if someone like Brighton are in for him but we'd be stupid not to least try. Should the Craig Morgan to Sheff Utd rumours be true, it'd make sense to move him out and bring Burke in. Morgan has probably reached his ceiling at this level based on his current performances this season.

Tommie Hoban to Blackburn on loan?

Be good for him to get some regular 1st team football.

Very good defender who just had bad luck with injuries.

Can play full back or centre half..

Boom - have some of that Championship :box:

(It's us who've had the bid accepted btw, JJH's post makes it sound like Blackburn have bid for their own player)

So he scores 3 own goals, gets sent off and is a defender for a team bottom of the league, and Brighton bid 4.5m for him?

Crazy if you ask me.
You're probably right... it's always best to make significant transfer decisions and investments in players based on their form over the last couple of games.

Guessing your being sarcastic?

He's not exactly blown the league away in the past couple of seasons either has he. 4.5m for a bang on average Championship is ludicrous. I'm sure if they shopped around they could find much better value for money.

We continue to be linked with Abel Hernandez and Enner Valencia. Would happily take either, our first choice seems to be Hernandez though.

I remember five years ago when Leicester paid £5.5m for our bang average centre back - Mr Matthew Mills.

Crazy money back then for a centre half. Leicester said we could have a STELLA on them!

Aren't Wolves in the process of bidding £3m-£3.5m for Mawson... who has less than five appearances above League One level.

Defenders, with age on their side, and who've got decent Championship experience are relatively expensive. Fuck, we got £6m for Tarkowski!
