Looks like things are starting to pick up again as interest in Max Aarons is growing, with Barcelona having had two bids rejected (the latest being £20 million plus add ons) and Bayern Munich reportedly also monitoring the situation. This one seems like a big case of "when, not if" provided someone is willing to meet our valuation (which, in this inflated market, is definitely more than £20 million).

If he does go, we'll desperately need to get a new right back in I feel as Byram is perpetually injured and Mumba still seems to be quite raw and probably isn't ready to play for a team hunting for promotion from the Championship just yet.

Meanwhile, we've loaned Sam McCallum back to Coventry for the season, leaving us without any sort of cover at left back for now. Expect someone else to come in to fill that void, as there's no way Quintilla will be available for every game this season.

Kind of surprised that we've done this after Lewis' departure, but Farke obviously doesn't think he's good enough for us currently. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him return permanently to Coventry in the end, unless he has a fantastic season at this level.

LOL at the fact that Barcelona thought they would expect Norwich to accept an offer of a loan deal on Aarons. Or even buying him in a year's time with no funds to replace him...

This seems a weird one on both ends. There is no guarantee he’ll be first choice here given how Ryan Giles has started the season and it sounds like you need the cover. Didn’t you pay us £3m for him in Jan? Seems very early to be giving up on him.

No Todd Cantwell in our squad today, as rumours about him going to Leeds for £15 million intensify. Would be very disappointed to see him sold for anything less than £20 million, but entirely unsurprised as we always seem to sell low rather than really pushing for more.

Beyond that, Danel Sinani and Melvin Sitti have gone to Belgian side Waasland-Beveren on loan, while Akin Famewo has headed to Charlton on loan.

Well, to add to the speculation around our other starlets, it seems we've got Everton, Fulham, Newcastle and one or two others looking to sign Ben Godfrey.

This final week or two, or however long is left of the transfer window, could be make or break for our prospects this season.

Signed Emil Riis Jakobsen for a 'significant' undisclosed fee from Randers. Danish U21 striker. Only seen videos but looks quick for a big gangly bloke.

Edit - Supposedly £1.2m... significant for us...

Looks like Godfrey is definitely off to Everton for around £25 million, while Cantwell looks likely to also leave in the next few days. And I can say with almost absolute certainty that we won't reinvest a penny of that into the squad to fill the big holes being left by their departures and by our decision to loan out 10+ players.

The other Luis Suarez gone back to Spain.

Never got to see him play!

Was out on loan - due back this summer and I guess didn't fancy the Championship so goes for La Liga and European football.

Who can blame him!

Dan Barlaser officially announced today even though it's been common knowledge since Wednesday.

He has signed for 3 yrs for an undisclosed fee from Newcastle (thought to be £250 - 350 thousand)
The 50% sell on clause is a bit hefty but it's the only way us poor paupers can afford him.

He has played a couple of games in the cup for Newcastle recently but Bruce has decided he won't make his 25 man squad so has let him go with a year left on his contract.

He was great last season, here's hoping he can step up and prove he is a Championship player.

AFC Bournemouth, Swansea City and Luton Town also trying to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers.

He will leave prior to deadline day, that I'm sure of. Unless Aarons money is freed up, I can't see us competing.

If there were to be money available, unlikely but still, with Lockyer through the door I personally think there are other areas we could spend it to improve us. Could do with an extra bit of quality in midfield or another forward more than another centre half.

Fantastic player though and you can’t have too many of those.

Derby trying to sign Charlie Austin. No bounds to their financial cheating.

Rangers have till midnight to sign Daniel Johnson if i'm not mistaken, rumours they've switched attentions to Huddersfield's Bacuna.

Looks like AFC Bournemouth are going to win the race to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent transfer.

With Godfrey having departed, there's now rumours that Timm Klose could be off to Basel on a season-long loan with an option to buy. Would expect to see another centre back come in if that happens as we can't go into a season with only 3 options in that position, especially after the constant injuries we suffered there last season.

In terms of likely incomings, we're apparently trying to get Owen Bailey and Matty Longstaff from Newcastle, the former on a permanent and the latter on a season-long loan with an option to buy at the end.

Man Utd want Sarr from Watford on another one of these loan to buy deals. What is this all about? FFP? Why would any club in this division let their best player go and not get any cash for 12 months?

I guess an element of cost cutting in getting probably a big wage out the door?

From Uniteds viewpoint it makes sense for FFP in terms of spreading the cost, and if its an obligation rather than option Watford are guaranteed a decent fee regardless of if he flops or not that’s probably higher than selling him straight away. You would think there is some form of initial loan fee involved as well so some money through the door.

If he does well I would guess Watford would be getting a decent sell on as well so probably get more money, earlier than "wasting" a year in the Championship than selling him straight up?

It’s all very weird transfer wise at that level though. Goodness knows all the shady stuff going on, probably a pretty decent vehicle for money laundering the transfer market at the moment with the fees involved. Wolves are essentially a vehicle for Jorge Mendes to make fees and move players around europe. The stuff with Watford and the Pozzos is well known. Sure it might be mutually beneficial for a time, and much of it probably above board, but doesn’t sit well with me in the slightest.

Got rejected - we want cash or there isn't a move

He won't be one of the the highest either.

Some have gone but others still here for now.

Pereyra and Deulofeu left.

Welbeck , Capoue and even Deeney maybe to go.

Timm Klose to FC Basel on a season-long loan confirmed, leaving us with just three centre backs and only seven senior defenders in the squad. At least one defensive addition urgently needed before the window closes.

Andrew Surman is training with Luton currently. I don't think we really need any more players in his position.

You're close to signing Joe Morrell from Bristol City.

Excellent player. I'm a little surprised he's potentially ending up at Luton. I thought he'd force his way in at Bristol City or get to a solid Championship side with PO ambitions (not saying Luton don't have those ambitions, but a PNE, Cardiff type side).

Good passer, gets stuck in, plays at 100mph and enjoys the physical side of the game so don't be fooled by his height and build. Did an ok job when he was given more license to get forward as well.

I’d be pretty happy to get Morrell. Scored a Worldy is against us for Cheltenham a few years ago and looked a decent player.

Bristol City are pretty stacked in that area from what I can tell so maybe why he is looking at being moved on.

He also had a good week this week for Wales from what I've seen.

Looks like Brizzle fans are disappointed to lose him.

I genuinely think we're putting together a really competitive squad now.

Seemingly, the fee for Morrell is around the £1m mark.

(a) I don't really believe it, although I'm guessing at least £500k.
(b) It would be the highest we've ever paid for a player other than Sluga.

Not sure where we’d have have got 1 million from. I guess we still have money coming g in from JJ/Stacey as that was all done in instalments.

I wonder if we are giving up a sell on % of Bakinson as a part of the deal. He’s just beginning to have a big breakthrough season there. Pure speculation on my part though.

Gabriel Osho, who recently rejected a contract by Reading, is now linked with Luton, as well as Swansea and Brentford.
