So Barnsley are in talks to sign Mario Ballotelli.

Paul Huntington has extended for another year, happy with that, 33 now but has been solid since coming back into the side.

5 games off the 300 mark I think, so glad he'll be able to have a testimonial at some point if we ever seen fans in a stadium again.

No word on Browne, Davies, Pearson & Johnson though, big offers (for us) on the table but they're not signing, only hope is a u-turn in the summer if they don't receive any good offers. Imagine they'll be in demand though, our offers will be easily matched and a nice signing on fee will seal it.

The manager wants to keep Fisher so hopefully he'll stay, good player just fucking mental.

Gallagher, Bodin, Ginnelly, Moult, Burke & Nugent all out of contract in the summer too, although I think Gally will get a proper coaching role.

Big rebuild coming you would think, supposedly we want 3 or 4 in January.

If the club don't get these next two windows spot on then I smell League One in the next couple of seasons.

Need a CB with Bauer missing the rest of the season.

Alfie Kilgour (Bristol Rovers) has been mentioned and seen a few who are available to loan; Edmundson (Rangers), Kipre (West Brom) & Benkovic (Leicester). Hope we don't hang around all window and we've already made enquiries.

Looks like we're selling Carlton Morris to Barnsley, presumably for little more than a nominal fee.

Saw him in the youth cup years ago and he looked different class, just shows that extra physicality can make someone look a world beater at youth level but doesn't mean it will transfer to senior football. That said, Barnsley seem to be able to spot a player.

I think his bigger problem is that he's had a fair few niggling injuries over the years that have hindered his progression. Well, that and the fact we've had some good strikers in recent years so he never had a chance to get minutes for us.

Seemed to do well at Rotherham a couple of years ago and has been impressing for MK Dons this season, so can only wish him good luck at Barnsley. Well, so long as he doesn't score against us, anyway.

Your recruitment is usually pretty good, that’s a hell of a lot of good players to lose but a lot of wage bill to play with

It's been average for while imo, club just refuses to play ball for our main targets and we end up with options C or D.

Players like Rafferty, Ripley & Stockley aren't up to it.

Stockley would be the perfect fit for us....May not be good enough for the championship, but would do well for us

He's fine coming off the bench at this level now and then but shouldn't be starting games for us.

Doubt he'll be going anywhere soon though, still contracted for another 18 months and we have very few striking options anyway.

Capoue left for Villarreal - few about 2/3 million .

A greet servant and excellent player over 5 years generally although probably dropped in form like so many and maybe his heart wasn’t in it .

Luton fans, have you heard anything about our goalie Dimi Mitov joining you Hatters in January? Obviously, if true, he'd be nothing more than a bench warmer. Still, he's not even good enough for us down in L2 so why would a Championship be interested in signing him? It's probably just bollox is what I think.

First I’ve heard of it. We don’t need a keeper so would be a surprise, Sluga is first choice and I think everyone is happy with Shea as his backup. At third choice we have Isted who we seem to rate and has had some decent loans to Wealdstone.

Not sure it’s a goer however I’ve just noticed that NJ and Mitov were at Charlton together at the same time. We’ve dipped into that well once or twice before. Not sure it’s needed on our end though.

Max Aarons to Manchester United.

Kerching.
There's going to be a lot of rumours like this circulating around our big names this window (Buendia to Arsenal has already reared its head on social media a few times), but we're in a position to ask for exorbitant fees for our best players so I would be amazed if we lost any of our star players.

Far as I can tell, no club at the top of the Championship table in the January transfer window has ever sold one of their star players during the window, and I don't expect to see that change.

Imagine it will be a quiet window for us in general, besides the reshuffling of some of our players out on loan perhaps.

Interest in Ben Whiteman is real, local journos think a deal could be similar to the £1.3m that Barnsley had rejected in the summer. Hope we can get this one done, although maybe it will depend on cashing in on Daniel Johnson.

Danish winger signed from the champions of Norway.

Sounds useful - hopefully will turn out to be so.

Least Ivic isn’t here to knock any attacking ability out of the lad .

We’ve been linked to Stephy Mavididi, ex Arsenal and Juventus youngster, previously had loan spells with a few teams in this league without ever doing too well IIRC?

Seems to have found form in France though, apparently did well for Dijon last year, joined Montpellier for €5m in the summer but they’ve hit some financial troubles so are apparently willing to sell already at a loss.

Also linked with Osayi-Samuel from QPR, I’m sure they’d rather sell to anyone but us so doubt it’ll come to anything.

I’d be a bit wary of that, Bodo/Glimt ran away with the league but they had some pretty unique aspects about them in terms of there tactical approach and a few other things. Be interesting to see if players from there can thrive outside of that system (to be fair there other winger who went to Ac Milan is doing well)

Very. very raw with us, loads of pace and was a bit of a barrel so didn't struggle with the physicality.

Just seemed a bit brainless and rash in front of goal, obviously been part of a top coaching set up since then though.

Yes - will be a step up I guess .

And we have had a few players who look good but turned out to be rubbish or not played .

Least it’s only a free transfer rather than a big money risk .

Very interesting how you got it done as well. I read you had him register an address in the UK prior to today and thereby got around the new Brexit rules which come into effect today.

You wouldn’t have been able to sign him if it had been done later so he’s probably the last of his type of transfer to happen.

The new rules are going to have a big impact on clubs at this level.

Yes - we also sold Capoue to Villareal which I don’t think would have easily been done a week later .

Why’s that? Capoue is French, Villareal is still in Spain... both are therefore EU? Don’t know why us leaving would impact that.

Isnt it based on trade between EU countries not the natuonality of the product?

You are correct in that for goods and services, but people don’t count as “products” or “trade”!

It’s like, if I went to live in Australia or any country in the world for a year, and then wanted to come back here to live - trade rules have no impact, I’m British so I have a right to work here.

If Capoue was British, not French, then he’d have lost his right to work in Spain on the 1st so yeah might not have been a deal that could go through.

Pearson & Davies both linked with pre-contract deals at Celtic.

Good move for Davies but I think Pearo could do better, that said, he's been riddled with injury over the last year or so.
