Anyone paying £1m for him is just lunacy. And I don’t mean that disrespectfully, but to pay a fee that size, you could get a lot more bang for your buck.

Meanwhile, Martin Cranie is off as he is unable to agree a deal - that’s a weird one. I guess he was offered a considerable pay cut owing to his possible game time. Not sure why he was offered a new deal.

Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu still “in talks” with the club - ball is in his court. He needs to make a decision sooner than later as we can’t have another LuaLua situation. If he’s being offered £16k a week at Middlesbrough for example, go for it. We can’t and won’t match it.

Gut feel says he’s gone to be honest. It’s dragged on far too long and reading between the lines of Jones comments he thinks it has too and is a bit irritated by it. Hope he stays but I’d think it would be a bit unusual for him to stay at this point given things have become quite drawn out.

Looks like Luton are going to sign Thakgalo Leshabela on loan from Leicester City, beating Blackburn and other Championship clubs to the signing. Looks like that KDH will not be resigning based on that business.

WHY on earth is our club apparently the only one who refuse to publish contract lengths? Since promotion to the championship, the only one that has been published was Sluga's 3 year contract. Everyone else - top secret. Yet they claim to be open with the fans.

Your guess is as good as mine - it's not like the information isn't readily available to agents. Sluga's was only publicised because it was already in the media beforehand.

That said, how many other industries announce contract lengths of their staff to the general public? Close to none I would suspect. If I came to power, I would make it a legal requirement to publish full accounts and full information about their players, although the likes of the PFA would push back on their cushy arrangements.

Looks like Luton are going to sign Admiral Muskwe from Leicester City. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Wycombe.

If both are signed, our 25 man squad would grow to 28...

Need to get a few like Hylton out of the door surely. Might just be a pre-season thing but a bit surprised Lee seems to have worked himself back into the picture, thought for sure he would be going.

I think we look strong but without Pelly and KDH central midfield looks a bit weak. Both were hugely important and influential players for us and leave big gaps im not sure we have quite filled yet, Campbell is one and granted ive no idea how Leshabela looks but its the one area that doesnt look as good as last season to me.

I think he’s quite difficult to to replace as he got us up the pitch quickly with his ball carrying. Most of our other midfield players aren’t really that type. Also with Pelly I don’t think you can underestimate what a good presence he was off the pitch too. We as fans obviously don’t really get to see all of it it but it’s very noticeable with how NJ speaks of him and his character. Some might sniff at it but he was a huge part of the “culture” of the place and that’s quite important for us.

Seems to be on course to compete for the right back/wing back position at the moment. I think Bree will be the starter there but he’d probably be the one to come in in case of injury, suspension, loss of form etc. I’d think he’d be kept around this season rather than sent out on loan but I could be wrong.

8th signing of the summer with a 9th on trial, probably depending if Pelly signs or not.
