A few clubs in this league in for Alfie doughty of Charlton. 3 have had bids accepted for him, QPR expected to be one of them.

We were interested in the summer but NJ thinks he will be above our budget now but as above he does tend to chat a lot of rubbish about transfers.

We would’ve had a couple of instalments recently paid for James Justin and Jack Stacey (probably a few million) so it wouldn’t surprise us if that is what’s financing it. I don’t think we’d pay £1m up front either. Maybe we’ve traded some of the sell on fee for Tyreeq Bakinson who left Luton because he felt he deserved more of a chance and ironically has replaced Morrell in the team.

Think I saw Stoke had a £650,000 bid accepted for him. Not affordable for us in the current circumstances.

Just on another note, James Justin is absolutely ripping it up for Leicester this season. I dearly hope we have a sell on clause on him because he's got to be worth £30m+ at the moment? I'm pretty sure we have a clause on him playing for England - he is better than TAA, AWB and James on recent form so I think it's inevitable he gets a call up.

Maybe they'll call it quits on the sell on, if they let us keep KDH!?

We signed Matty James on loan at the end of last week, sounds like he's here with a view to make it permanent in the summer should he be able to stay fit/we stay up. Pretty happy with that one, he's a decent player.

We're in desperate need of a striker right now though. Walker is out until the beginning of March and Godden is probably going to miss the rest of the season leaving us with just Bakayoko and Biamou up front. Biamou is ok, and works hard, but he won't score goals at this level, while Bakayoko is incredibly lucky to still be earning a living in professional football, let alone at a Championship club.

We have recalled Peter Kioso from his loan with Bolton. Feel a bit for them, and him as by all accounts he’s been very good and one there better players, but we have been playing Pearson at right back with regularity which isn’t a long term option really.

Had hoped that with Bree getting some minutes at the weekend we might start to see him more regularly but I guess it makes sense to bring Kioso back in as he’s been playing well and is a more natural right back than Pearson is

My Bolton mate is very impressed but I don't think it's difficult to stand out for them right now.

According to Evatt we’ve lost a player to long Covid. Not a nice thing to speculate about from his side.

Yeah saw that. Pretty poor to come out with something like that, ultimately it’s encouraging people to speculate about someone’s long term health. Not on at all.

In other news I see a lot of talk about Blackburn signing Harry Pickering from Crewe. Really highly rated and available for 600k. Another season I’d be disappointed if we weren’t looking at that price but probably not wise to be spending too much this season in our case. Blackburn could be getting a bit of steal there though

Oh fuck off. RND recalled by Sheffield United to go to Stoke City on loan.

What is the point of that?

Had a feeling he would get recalled somehow, but to actually go play for Sheffield United rather than for another team. I get recalling him to play for Sheffield United but to recall him and send him to another club in the same league, where he has to resettle in again seems like a bit of a waste of time. Especially as he was performing well here, who knows how he fits into the Stoke side could play one or two games and get dropped again who knows. Odd decision by Sheffield United if you ask me but he’s their player and that’s the risk you take relying on loans.

Really big blow for us though, I guess why we brought kioso back as it at least means we have extra fullback cover even though he is a right back. Could do with looking at getting a left back in but that probably involves spending a bit - as above with Doughty and Pickering, there are options available out there if we could.

Now that explains the reasons about Jones press conference yesterday when he talked about managing players who thought they were too good for the Championship...

A potential further blow as Leicester have an injury to one of their midfield players (Praet). Chat now that Dewsbury-Hall will be recalled, which combined with RND being recalled would be a real hammer blow.

If that does happen then you’d have to say we could be in some trouble for the second half of the season.

RND a huge blow. Painful...... and Stoke too ffs As above seems a bit pointless. Sheff U obv Championship side next season and theyll groom him for that, wanting playoff pressure/ experience? They also gonna get Doughty from Charlton. Jones prob feels thats personal :)

KDH recalled.

Can this day end already? Oh I forgot; we’ve got a game this evening.

Fee agreed for Whiteman supposedly, between £1.5m-£1.8m it seems.

Has it definitely happened now? Only seen speculation so far. Im desperately trying to convince myself it won’t happen!
Well he’s playing tonight so seemingly not, but with Leicester gaining a long term injury over the weekend, it remains to be seen how long that lasts for.

On RND, I am genuinely gutted. He was one of the most exciting players I’d seen at this club in a very long time.

RND confirmed to Stoke then. As above bizarre move I think. I’d guess from his interview at Stoke and from some other comments, that it’s him who has pushed the move through

His comments on the Stoke website are just bizarre. Felt he wasn’t played enough (huh? He was being overworked at the start of the season) and is a stepping stone to the PL as a LB in a 4-3-3... don’t Stoke play a back 3!?

Yep totally weird, clearly people making the switch from us to Stoke are compelled to make bizarre statements!

No fucker had heard of him before September. And now he gets into the National side he starts saying we were just a stepping stone. Gets his new 4 year contract, trebles his value and does this.

Is Nathan Jones a bell end? definitely seems something might have gone on behind the scenes.

Confirmed now. You think that means Pearson may be on his way?
Oh, he's always been off.

Love the guy but he's only managed 8 games this season, so even if he goes during this window, we're probably going into the second half of the season stronger. Injuries seem a bit of a problem for him now, still hope a Prem team takes a punt on him though and he can show what he can do.

I'm not particularly worried about Daniel Johnson going now either, Alan Browne can chip in with a similar goal return when played in attacking midfield, with Whiteman, Molumby & Ledson behind him.

On paper, the club seem to be handling this upheaval well.
