Always liked him, doubt that will happen.

I like him but no problems with him leaving tbh, wants too much money to extend and Ledson has jumped ahead of him in the pecking order in pre-season.

Has he only got 1 year left?

Be a decent signing for us imo from what I've seen in the past.

Good ball player but not as dangerous around the box as he was in League One. Not sure he would start ahead of Fleck & Coutts but a good option for anyone in this league.

We’ve signed Janoi Donacien for £750k from Accrington, although it is initially a loan deal for a year as Town didn’t want to pay until Donaciens paperwork is sorted so he can remain in the country!

And we’ve upped our bid for Blackpool’s Curtis Tilt to £700k. Good to see we’re spending some money and on potential rather than ‘has beens’!

I like him as well he's a tidy little player. Got a bit of cash now haven't you?

I've no idea mate, I'm not on the board unfortunately:cool1:. The brooks sale must obviously have helped, plus we will sell joc I think too for 8-10m. , maybe we've got another 7 or 8 mill to play with but I don't actually know that for sure.

No one will start ahead of fleck, he's our main man by a country mile, surprised no one has come in for him tbh, been a wonderful signing for us.

Aye, good player.

Think we will cash in on DJ though, supposedly made a move for Kasey Palmer who went to Blackburn, could only see that happening if something is in the works.

I reckon we’re gonna miss out on Connolly to Wigan too. He’s not gonna be first choice here and he’s been to Wigan before.

Seems a good player but not a priority, would rather all our focus & finances go on a striker(s) now.

Expecting Ipswich to meet Shrewsbury's asking price for our CB Toto Nsiala in the next 48 hours, believed to be around 750k plus, especially with him into his last 12 months contract.

Nolan has 2 years on his contract and it will take a hefty fee for any club to prise him away.
Shrewsbury are likely to get a windfall in the next few days as well which is 20% of Ryan Woods expected transfer fee from Brentford to Swansea, so Shrewsbury can afford to drive a hard bargain with the clubs who are showing interest in Nolan.

Caldwell and Askey suggested at last nights manager forum Shrewsbury have 2 players lined up should Toto and Nolan leave but there will be no deals in or out if Shrewsbury are not offered what they believe the players to be worth.

I know time is moving on for Ipswich to get CD in but my personal view is that no way is Toto good enough for the Championship is too prone to errors and will get slaughtered.
Nolan though is a class act.

Ipswich are building a solid League One side, then again these young talents might blend in nicely with the experience they have.

I've come to accept the fact we wont be signing anyone before the 9th August, there's not even any rumours it's so boring.

From the West Ham friendly at the weekend, the youth are working really well with the experienced players we’ve got. If we can keep Waghorn, it gives us a solid experienced spine to work with of Bialkowski, Chambers, Skuse and Waghorn.

We’ve got a couple of players still to come back in Huws and Adeyemi (doubt will see him though).

We need to get more depth at the back definitely. In terms of midfield, I’m not sure we actually need Nolan, we’ve got three youth guys coming through, 2 of which have been playing for England youth teams

We’ve signed Luke Steele on a free as back up to Pantillimon

Unbelievable bit of business as we’ve just shifted our other GK Kapino for £1m. We got him on free in Jan, he turned out to be utter chaff and played 4 times. Somehow made a decent bit of cash out of it.

Norwich paid us nearly £2M to take Rhodes for the season, he'll no doubt bang goals in for them and we could make a profit on him...

According to the local journos round here we got about £2.5m from a sell on fee when Gunn moved to Southampton and we pretty much just sent that to you for a loan fee and wage contribution. Without Gunn moving we wouldn't have been able to afford it as we've had to cut costs pretty drastically in the last year due to some of the silly contracts given to players we can't shift like Steven Naismith and Matt Jarvis.

Sounds like we are in a similar position, can't get rid of a lot of the high earning non contributors till next summer. You did get really big money for Maddison though?

We’ve sacked off Wyke and apparently, are going for Garner instead.
Sacked off, couldn't afford same thing I suppose. Anyway he's gone to Sunderland for £1m.

Apparently bringing Doyle in on loan, happy about that as he's gash at championship level if we got up and would cost a small fortune in wages.

I just want him gone, so hope this happens, at least his contract is up this summer.

No point him sitting in the stands, even if you only pay 40-50% of his wages. Proven goalscorer in League One if he gets the service.

Fucking appalling business by us, 3yr deal, Christ.

I don't think that's a good signing if Parkinson is going to play one up front like he did last year.

He doesn't win many headers and isn't strong enough to bully defenders at this level, much better when he's got a strike partner to share the load and he gets good service from out wide.

Hoping the O'Connell to Brighton rumours are true, we've got a fairly hefty sell on (c.30% of profit), so if he moves for £6-7m as rumoured, we should get most of £2m out of it.

Given Sheff Utd bought their replacement from us too, we'll have pocketed around £6m from them this summer, and only lost our 3rd choice CB. Pretty good business!

I'd guess we will sell him for a fair bit more than 6m so you'll get more.

Today's business (and seemingly 'soon to be business') has greeted me at lunchtime with a smile. If we keep Waghorn now and the 1 or 2 being rumoured to be close materialises, I think we are close to where Hurst wants us for the kick off.

Not to be a broken record, but the most important bit of business outstanding will be replacing Waghorn effectively should he go. If we don't, it's going to be the Murphy saga all over again from a few seasons past.

Egan was 3rd choice?
Apparently so

Surely Brentford wouldn't have played two 20yr olds alongside each other and Egan would have started alongside one or the other? hence why you've brought in this more experienced French guy.

Egan was captain wasn't he?

Yeah once Mepham broke through, it was Mepham and Bjelland as the first choice pairing. While we weren't actively shopping the guy we were very happy to sell him this window. Especially once we managed to get Konsa in.

He's a very good defender though, I'm sure he'll do well for Utd.
