Still not over Podge and Toto are ya? Losers.
I’ll be honest at the time I was gutted about Podge (couldn’t have cared less about Toto) but I have to admit I took some pleasure from him throwing a tantrum to try and leave you a year into his 2 year contract after stating that the reason he left us was because he wanted a 2 year and we’d only given him 1.
I’ve since read an interview he did about it where i’m now a lot more understanding of his reasons as it was Fenty being a tight twat with him over his new contract that pretty much forced his hand.

Stockport County.
In other scraping the barrel news JJ Hooper is training with Pools, we’re building a non league XI in the EFL.
Challinor looks like he's making it work pretty well so far. Done a great job with you guys. Does seem a limit to the budget there though, can see a bigger club with more scope come knocking and snatching him at some point unfortunatley for Hartlepool. But he'll see you right you this season IMO.

The first XI isn't really non league quality (minus the strikers) but the backs ups certainly are.

There's a fair bit of scope to be an established L1 side, we have the support for it but it needs backing and DC hasn't really been. And he might well end up leaving because of err wait stop the press he's just signed a new 3 year contract. Fucking gerrin.

He's just signed a new three year deal with us, although contracts aren't really worth the paper it's written on nice bit of compo you'd imagine if he does get poached.

Timing of that!

Like you say, contracts aren't the be all and end all but great news for Hartlepool.

Hooper and Fondop? That's the laziest strikeforce since Fulham had Berbatov and Darren Bent up top.

Hooper is training because their lass lives in Newcastle and we're just helping him out, we've got a set of goal shy strikers like so the longer that continues the greater his chance.

Simeon Akinola was apparently in the stands for our game yesterday (according to someone on Shotsweb). Wonder if he might be announced this week.

if I was him I'd wait for the inevitable sacking of Phil Brown, he should get another look in then.

Sadly it's not inevitable though, not when your best mate is in charge of sacking you.

Also guess who's back, Ricky Holmes. I was told by Steve Arnold yesterday he's also been at training, Brown still wants him, Ron still doesn't. He also confirmed what Brown said, that Farnborough did indeed offer him more money than Southend.

Nathan Ferguson turns down Aldershot. Surprising because he can’t even get in the squad atm and Brown pretty much lashed him in public post game twice lol

I’m assuming we can’t match his wages which is a shame as sounds like he would have been a decent signing.
Another name mentioned on our forum is Jacob Mellis?

The Mellis of a few seasons ago was far too good for this level, but seems like he's had problems on and off the pitch in abundance. Definitely a player in there if he's fit and in the right headspace.

Josh Wright, released by Crawley, apparently training with Southend. Linked with ‘Shots. Not sure we can fund another wage.

We had him on loan as a 17 year old and it looked like he had the world at his feet. Never quite made it and hanging out with the TOWIE crowd never seemed to do him any favours.

We have released Jack Cawley after an apparent bust up with the management team. His good bye message pointedly doesn’t mention the MT. Nearly signed for Aldershot during the summer and also rumoured to be in talks with Bromley, though could easily end up at Barnet. He’s improved a lot at CB this season.

We could do with a reliable CB so if he is any good I'd take him
