Yeah Brennan seems very well thought of there so don’t think they’d be letting him go permanently. Got some potential but struggled a lot with the physicality, I imagine he’ll pop up somewhere in this league for the rest of the season.

Danny Rowe has been missing now for 3 weeks with a mystery illness waiting for test results. I wonder whether he’s out longer term and we will see a striker come in. Right footed CB seems more likely though.

With Gunning out till the new year, and Maguire not back till December, absolute no doubt about it that it’s going to be a centre back

Maybe following recent news of our £60k windfall, the club has put some of that towards much needed bolstering of the defensive ranks…

Any guesses who? Waterfall from Grimsby maybe after the apparent turned down bid last week? Or that defender from the famous ‘Heard Town FC’ that WhoWasFone has inside knowledge on!???

It’s the guy you signed last week who I feel sorry for.

I can't remember if anyone here has mentioned it, but we've got a few long term injuries. You might not have heard,it's been kept on the down low

Sounds like this lad can play in a few positions across the back so it looks like an ideal signing, if it's true of course, nothing confirmed yet.

Hope so, as we play Solihull tomorrow. Odd one tho, Solihull not known to be short of a bob or two and about to get a few more £££ off the TV

Hope it is Tyrone Williams, the absolute ideal signing. Covers RWB as Cashis alluded to, aswell as any of the centre back positions.

Let’s see, nothing announced yet

We’d have said same when we signed Tshimanga!! But yeah I get your point, Grimsby would be mental to sell him to us.

With it being a permanent incoming I’m not sure it’ll be the Wednesday lad? Ain’t he highly rated there (As every young player seems to be these days…)

Also agree on the RWB point but I think Rowe is content with Kellerman providing cover there if absolutely necessary. I don’t think Rowe is the type to like stop gap loans etc… I don’t think he trusts them to be as invested as they should be
It’s mad in football just how quickly things can change with players as if you’d come in for Waterfall last season we’d probably have paid you to take him.

Heard Town are trying to get a couple in this week, one guy from West Ham. We'll see what happens I guess.
Seems like the West Ham connection was an ex player who has more recently been playing in Iceland. Some possible issue with international clearance but also might just be keeping the guy at arms length while we see what happens with Rowe and Asante.

Collymore at Chorley Kettering tonight 100% on the lookout for players. See Cardwell been linked with teams at this level but we need centre midfielders

We’ve got a big battle on keeping Rodrigues in January. Lincoln, Rotherham, Blackpool, Blackburn and Portsmouth all there watching him last night. Nigel Clough as well, but that’s not happening. :D

The only question now is who goes first - Rodrigues or Tshimanga?

They’ll both go next summer I reckon, just whether either can get their team promoted first. Rodrigues did himself no harm last night, they couldn’t really get near him either for the most part.

How long have you got Rodrigues tied down for?

As I mentioned, we’re in a strong position as a club with Tshimanga because he’s contracted for another 2 and a half years come Jan

End of next season, we took a risk giving him a three-year deal as a complete unknown that’s happily paid off. I think he’ll go next summer whether we go up or not, but that extra year means it’ll probably take a very big offer for us to sell in January.

I didn’t think it was his best game, apart from when he rattled the underside of the bar from 25 yards. A inch lower and the chequebooks probably would have been dusted off last night.

Like Chesterfield with Asante, at least we have an existing replacement in Roberts (although he doesn’t really perform the 2nd striker role like RR), who is showing signs of returning to form. And under the ‘system’ we should already have replacements identified. Just sad they won’t be gems from the Swedish third division or something, cheers Brexit.

It’s his ability to turn out of trouble that I’ve not seen from a Notts player in a long time. The amount of times he takes a pass on the half-way line surrounded by two or three players, looks like he’s about to lose it and is then suddenly past them all is ridiculous.

I don’t think he’s directly replaceable really, pretty much plays as a forward, number ten and midfielder for us at the same time, popping up all over the place.

No, not in that sense but an on-form Roberts will be a start at least. Fascinating to see who we bring in if he does go.

Is this Sir Cal Roberts, the best player outside of the championship?

I'd be highly surprised if we can offer enough to tempt you into selling in January, even more so with the other Club's mentioned being able to pay far more money both in terms of fee and wages. That said, I'm not sure what sort of money you'd sell for.

We'll have to get Agent Monstma on the case with this one.

Half a million, we’d probably have to think pretty hard about? Hard to know really. He’s pretty key to any hopes we have of promotion and has another year on his contract so we’re not under pressure to sell in January.

Yeah, exactly, you'll want more than he's worth because of what he is to you as a Club and your ambitions of being promoted.

Tbh, I don't know too much about him so I couldn't tell you whether he'd even do the business at L1 level but when the likes of Rotherham, Blackpool, Blackburn etc are also in for him then he must be ok. Who's the other lad, the one who is always injured? Roberts? Is he better than him?

The only worry with him at a higher level would be fitness/physicality I think. Took him a long time to adjust to that side of it at National League level and he still often looks knackered after 70 minutes. Technically he’s better than the vast majority we had when we were a League One side, would have no problems on that front.

We play him nominally as a second striker, but really he’s got a free role. Can play upfront, in midfield or out wide but that number ten type position is probably his best. Has a very useful knack of popping up in the box and good goalscoring record considering he isn’t an out-and-out forward as well.

Rodrigues is in much better form than Roberts this season, but that’s probably to be expected. I think Cal is probably more naturally gifted, his left foot is ridiculous and he’s a fantastic dribbler, but we don’t play with wingers any more so he’s learning a new position and coming off a year out injured. Biggest worry with him is that what he’s good at means a lot of physical contact and getting fouled, and he does look a bit worried about getting clobbered and more hesitant since the injuries. Rodrigues is more rounded - not as good at taking people on and scoring screamers, but better without the ball and more efficient in racking up goals/assists.
