Need a result here. I'm feeling another defeat though. If Vernon starts then we are going to struggle.

3-0 Accy.

I'm a bit more optimistic, 2-0 Accy.

We are playing with bags of confidence right now, so feeling pretty optimistic. 2-0 Stanley, but back to our rubbish attendance of less than 1500

Can only see a comfortable home win I'm afraid, 3 or 4 nil.

Hope I'm wrong though.

please to see your confidence for a Stanley win, another consideration is will the match actually be on, a lot of heavy rain here over the last 5 days, the pitch held up well for the Carlisle match but we have had a hell of a lot of rain since then. please note the away end is open to the elements, safe journey to all traveling fans

I was going to this but after witnessing our game at Mansfield I am saving my dosh and time by staying at home. Fully expect less than 100 will follow us to watch another gutless performance. The feel good factor has well gone.

This looks like one of the lowest away supports we've had for a long time:

Jones goal was absolutely superb.

Yet we got strung up 2 mins later, paying for the inexplicable decision to play Clarke and Collins

Tbf after seeing the goal, no blame should go to Clarke, it's completely Collins' fault.

Surely not? That looks awful!

Sounds as if we're playing well though

295 there tonight which isn't too bad really. Most in the seats as it's pissing down.

Forgot we were even playing until just now. Good result, sublime finish by Jones. Means nothing if we don't follow it up on Saturday.

So pleased that we were all wrong about the score. Playing with Jones and an actual target man really helps.

We NEED to tighten up defensively. We still don't know who our best CB pairing is and our LB is pretty weak. Yeovil is chance this weekend for another 3 points (he says). Another non-performance and the pitchforks will be back out.

Jones and Dembele are ace aren't they.

Won't get too carried away, good result but there's still some major holes in this squad.

Jones is quality; my daughter remarked after he had come on on Sat - "why does that substitute try so much harder than the other players..."

We need to build the team around him.

I haven't looked at the Fishy since Saturday; had a peep tonight at the In Slade we Trust thread - well we have to, we've no choice. Saturday was a defeat against the big spending pre-season favourites from 4 set piece goals - there was really nothing in it until their second goal. We have a number of quality players but unfortunately we also have too much rubbish lying around in the squad. After Saturday I wouldn't pick Hooper for a month - a lack skill / technique at this level is what you get, you should never get a lack of effort. We have a Sports scientist on board now - every player that goes out should be in top physical condition and therefore put in a full shift - Hooper was a half hearted waste of space.

Yep Jones is quality and it's starting to show even more than last season now that most of the players around him are shit. Him, Osborne and Dembele in the same side would cause so many problems in this league if used in the right way, just not sure we'd always score more than we concede. Can't remember the last time I was this concerned about our defence. Still can't believe people rated Collins over Pearson!!!

Nah, Collins and Pearson worked well together and they would've worked well THIS season. It's Slade's releasing of Shaun and replacing him with Clarke that upsets me. Sure, Clarke shows a bit of passion and tries his best but I just think he's slow and can't do it anymore. It's criminal that Pearson has gone down a division.

Agree about our attack though. Losing Osborne for 6 months was as big a blow as any.

I rated Collins last season and agree they had a good partnership but not once did I think Collins was the better player. Shaun improved immensely after a shaky start and looked like he would keep getting better. I will never understand the decision to let him go and would actually love some clarity on the situation seeing as we have downgraded immensely when we didn't even need to.

Anyway, just the one goal conceded tonight. Surprised K.Osborne got dropped as he has looked alright, don't think he was horrendous against Mansfield was he? Him and Collins together is definitely the direction we need to be going in.

Something clearly went wrong with set-piece defending at Mansfield in the second half, I wouldn't know whether that was in any way down to KO. He certainly looks the part - physicality and pace.

Trust me to pick the wrong game to go to. Originally was going to Accrington, but when I saw the Mansfield tickets were not sold out I got 4. We were so poor, I refused to drive up the Accrington last night.
