U’s v Newport

Well it’s been a while and where’s the thread maker(Alan?) laker/vanni still about?
Our record against Newport is truly woeful so we’re long overdue a win, hopefully that’s going to be today.

I’m intrigued to see us without brown and amoo so I’m assuming we’ll be more narrow than last season unless dunk is our only hope in which case we’ll be screwed.

There’s not much to say is there? We did alright and look solid but we’re not creating tons. 0-0 in our first two games seems appropriate.

No not really laker, thought we done ok first half and was happy coming in with a clean sheet, was expecting us to create more in 2nd half with the wind behind us but it never really happened.

Thought we looked solid enough without being outstanding, some nice play in the 1st half especially down the left, don’t think the rb going off helped matters and Davies looked really nervous to me, hopefully his confidence will grow the more he plays, I did like the look of smith though who worked hard in crap conditions, Taylor had a dodgy 2nd half and was lucky not to cost us.

Overall a fair result against a half decent streetwise Newport.
