Another decent away game in front of a sold out away end.

My team would be:

Giefer
Vyner, Flint, Wright, Magners;
Cotterill, Reid, O'Neil, Bryan;
Taylor, Wilbraham.
We need at least a point here, especially with the form Villa have been in. Would be just the sort of game where they click against us, but let's hope not otherwise they'll embarrass our shoddy defence.

Villa 1-1 City. Kodjia & Taylor. 26,548 (2,398 away)

I would take a point but the idea of Kodjia against our defence is concerning.

Think we could get something from this. However Jonathan Kodjia to score a hattrick at 33/1 was too tempting to not stick a bit on.

I'm going for a Bristol city win. We were fucking shite on Saturday and if you played like you did at Newcastle first half then you will piss it.

Tbf Villa are the only team in the league (well, bar Rotherham, maybe) that I reckon we'd be able to hold on against if we were 2 or 3 up at ht.

I wouldn't drop O'Dowda. He was very good 1st half on Sat, and whilst he tailed off in the 2nd (understandable as Newcastle had us under so much pressure) he's someone I think could really do with a run of games, so after one of his brightest performances I'd want to see him kept in the side. Other than that that's what I'd go with

Yeah as long as O'Dowda is fit to play I think we should be playing him.

.............................. Geifer
Vyner........Wright................Flint.........Bryan
Cotterill......Smith............Reid/O'Neil........O'Dowda
..................Taylor.............Wilbraham

Stick as close to the team as possible, if players need resting (ie Wilbraham) then change where required only, Hegeler in for Wilbraham and Reid in behind Taylor.

I forgot about O'Dowda, him on the left and Magnusson left back then (won't happen). I hate Bryan playing full back.

Have a read of the Kodjia thread on Villa's forum if you get a chance mate, he's not the most popular player at the moment!

We're shit, you're shit. You can score, we can't defend, we're alright at scoring, you can't defend. 2-2. However, if we are behind at HT, we've as good as lost the game.

In our last 2 away games Jase, we've been 3 nil and 2 nil up at half time and won neither!
As I said earlier, the 2nd half tonight is either going to be a goal fest or utter turd!

We've got a stat of losing every game when we've been behind at HT for 3 years or something stupid...

As stated in the box, we're not tinpot fuckers who postpone for a bit of rain. Our pitch is kept in pristine condition and can handle this shit.

I don't think we'd hear the end of it if a club like Villa called a match off because of rain..

Then again Man City do it...

Unchanged for us. Pleasantly surprised, just hope Sat didn't take too much out of them. Smith in particular looked dead on his feet
