Zenga sacked after barely three months at Wolves.

Seemed a strange appointment at the time, but given they went through with it they'd have been wise to stick to their guns and at the very least give him a chance to turn it around.

Think McCarthy or Pearson will replace him.

I've only seen them play twice but on both occasions I've thought what a decent side they look.

Bit trigger happy for me from Wolfs.

87 days.

I know they haven't made as good a start as Wolves fans were hoping for and they've been very inconsistent but 87 days is just ridiculous. Especially with the influx of new players, many of whom haven't played in this league or even this country before, that's nowhere near enough time to be expected to find your best team, build an understanding, embed a style of play.

It's almost taken as fact nowadays that if you go on a poor run, have a few bad performances, that's it - it's terminal, things will never improve and you must make a change; because so few managers are given an opportunity to prove otherwise. It's not just the clubs, it's the fans too. This whole instant success culture is bollocks.

Nothing against Wolves generally but I hope they don't strike lucky with their next appointment and they go on to struggle this season. Wouldn't say it's too unlikely either, from the outside they don't appear a particularly well run club.

Foreign owners wanting instant success, it rarely ever works.

Started well didn't he but has the Championship and its demands found Zenga out?

I did read the other week some Wolves saying he liked to tinker with the team a lot due to the number of games.

They don't necessarily have to be foreign either, join the club,

I watched Villa-Wolves the other week and they tore Villa a new backside, was really impressed. That's all I've seen bar highlights and their results. I find it strange from an outsider but Wolves fans will obviously have the best idea of whether this is surprising or not.

That Villa game along with Birmingham and Newcastle away were the only games where I'd say we performed well, the rest has been average or shit. As seems to be the modern day trend though, managers are under fire right from the start. 10 years ago I would have been shocked to see a manager sacked for being on a 5 game winless run. Sadly now it seems to be the norm.

Yeah, it was getting to the point where we'd win on Saturday, and then make 7/8/9 changes to the team the following Tuesday. Didn't make much sense, and if our players are fatigued by mid September then maybe they are in the wrong profession.

Possibly the only manager this season who had set up his team perfectly to stop us playing. They gave us no room and totally controlled our game at Molineux.

To see how they've struggled so much surprises me. Too much change too quickly?

This is what I've said to a few others today, it's easy to look at the initial appointment, his record and make a conclusion but feel like the results don't match up. Play has been okay but at the same time timid and lacking a focus. Shame as I took to him personally and liked what he was about and how he came across.

Loads of our bellend fans moaning on FB for a change about experience now needed. Load of bollocks that, they never shut up about Rowlett, the Huddersfield manager and a few others, all who were 'gambles' in a sense.

Thought they would have waited until Christmas to see if things results were any better but it seems promotion is a must this season. He seems a nice bloke and cared for the fans but whether he would have succeeded i'm not so sure. Hope this is a kick up the arse for Fosun and the players as to the difficulty of this league and they take their time to appoint the right manager.
I would like to see Villas-Boas here but that may be a bit ambitions at the moment, he's also been linked with Wolfsburg so I dont know. Big Sam would be my next choice.

With the amount of chances created in some games this season, If we had an out and out goalscorer he would still be here.

87 days is no time to allow a manager who has never played/managed in this country, particularly in a lower league than the promised land to settle in and stamp his authority on a team. Could it be possible that Zenga's agent has talked him into this job and the new owners have realised he's not quite what they expected? Seems strange to me that a Chinese consortium would go for a completely unknown manager in the first place but that could be me doing them an injustice regarding their knowledge of world football.

Thought they would have waited until Christmas to see if things results were any better but it seems promotion is a must this season.

To be fair to your owners, now is probably the right time to act in terms of the time between now and when the transfer window re-opens. Gives any new manager a couple of months to assess what he (or she of course) needs to do to improve the squad instead of throwing them into the job on 1st January and seeing whoever it is waste a load of money with panic buys

Yeah with MJA on this, between training and playing twice a week, with a core of players now from two managers it isn't an easy task to begin to mould or create the team to do what you want.

Mark mentioned Pahars in the ShoutBox. So it's the perfect opportunity to show the man mugging off one of the current Championship managers.

Keep seeing we need 'experience' of the league. Having just had a quick scan of the top half of the table, personally I would say only Hughton and Grayson fitted that when given the jobs by their team, would people say that's about right?

Yeah and Grayson was written off at Championship level by most people too
