The Wednesday
Another corker of a pick by Sky :dk:

Under Zola the visitors have been frankly, shit but picked up their first win under the Italian last weekend at home to Fulham and will be buoyed by that, injuries have ravaged them a little with the cowardly Michael Morrison and ex-Owl winger Jacques Maghoma among 4/5 players ruled out.

Wednesday have been poor in recent weeks but have managed to keep winning when needed, Tom Lees and Gary Hooper remain doubtful but Sam Hutchinson is back from suspension and Jordan Rhodes is set for his home debut, he's a knack for scoring at Hillsborough and expect him to open his account either tonight or Tuesday.

We should have enough but lost down at St Andrews late on despite being the better side for the most part.

Wednesday 2 Brum 0 (Forestieri, Bannan) 23,563 (945 blues)

A fucking awful ground for us, add to that we have a 40yr old Paul Robinson and a poor left back in Jonathon Grounds as the centre half partnership :doh:could be a long night!!!

Stuck at work on nights so with a bit of luck I'll get called out onto a job and miss it all

Blues to nick it 1-0 :gmc:

No idea why sky keep picking us, missed it today with illness but watched it on the box, couldn't even get anybody to take my season ticket, having watched it you can see why.

I think watching Wednesday trying to win this season is like watching dementia take hold of your Nan, it's slow, it's painful, but it happens in the end

I thought at 1-0 we looked decent, in possession at least, the young lads play some nice stuff and waste no time getting forward, certainly more entertaining than the 'solid two banks and lump up to the lone striker'...the defence was the predictable time bomb threatening to implode at any given moment, could see it coming before the game and it played out as we all knew it would, unfortunately no real choice but to play them and left further exposed by the marauding full backs.

There's no getting away from it though, it's a results business, and one win in twelve just isn't good enough whichever way you dress it up.

I still find myself torn, I do appreciate the way GZ is trying to get us playing, but the simple fact is a lot of the players we have aren't good enough to play the way he wants. He's already hung drawn & quartered by some of our fans who still pine for Rowett, I think he may as well see the season out now we've nothing to play for and see if he can get them playing the way he wants. Failing a fair upturn in results between now and the summer then maybe look at accepting it was the wrong move and get rid..

Big 3 points last night and a much better performance going forward, hopefully this will give the players more confidence to score goals now. Thought 3-0 was a bit flattering as Birmingham created changed themselves, Craig Gardner in the middle was very impressive he'll be a fantastic signing for anyone at this level if they get him permanently. The first 15 minutes we were brilliant probably the best I've seen all season, we took the lead and then we allowed Birmingham to settle into the game. Blues had a lot of the ball but only really looked threatening from set pieces, in the end it took us until the last 10 minutes to wrap up the game but chuffed for all 3 of the scorers last night, especially Sam Winnall as he's been a bit desperate to score snatching at chances. Big game for for us Tuesday night now against Blackburn, 3 points in that one and we could be looking quite pretty inside the top 6.
