A big welcome to the Shakers upon their relegation, we'll be welcoming 3 other unfortunate sods from League One in the coming weeks with MK Dons and Northampton likely to be two of the other unfortunates.

Once again went for boom, and have received sod all but bust. Ryan Lowe tore into Bury's season tonight and it looks uncertain what will happen to them next year. Will they attempt to buy promotion again? Will they middle out with a more realistic squad befitting the club's finances? Or will they do a Chesterfield and plummet into non league?

Honestly can't see where Bury will end up next year, but if Lowe manages them next year they're a definite dark horse to go down. However, I reckon a Graham Alexander type manager will eventually steer them to some sort of stability and realism...

Wow, 30 points from 42 games (Bury’s current total) is pretty special.

How much money are they going to spend getting out of League Two this time, to only get relegated later?

At the moment we'll be doing a Chesterfield and a lot will have to happen for that to change. Lowe isn't the answer either.

Yeah quite a few decent boozers near the ground.
Remember going there regularly in the 90s and 00s.
Decent social club too and you could create a decent atmosphere in the away end but it looks like the away fans have swapped ends?

Away fans will be in the cemetery end which is the best stand as it has no posts blocking any view. The MRE doesn't get used at all unless you're big enough to fill two stands
Trackside in the town centre and the Swan and Cemetery which is a 5 minute walk from the ground are the best pubs Imo. We have your spoons too if you aren't too fussed about what you drink.

Wetherspoons can be OK if you can find a decent one....

The ales can be decent if lucky, one in Mansfield had Jaipur IPA on the other day, always good stuff, if not a little strong if you're having a few!

Slightly off topic but massive fan of The Swan last week, some top ales in that!

We will go down again as it stands. The club is rotten. Carbon copy of Chesterfield.

Double thread, please delete. There's already a thread welcoming back Bury that I started back in January. I'm so disappointed and sad right now :( I can't even describe the way I'm feeling tbh :( Why oh why......

OTOH, I'm looking forward to the return of BuryFC/Calvin/UTS on the U's forum.

Yeah, I wasn't keen on the pub near the ground and the social club is a complete dive, so town was a much better improvement, so know where to go next time!

Yeah Social club is dire, never ever use that as a venue to drink. I'd go town before coming to Bury - much more choice to choose from.

Aye, a mate lives in whitefield so normally go through to bury, they've done a decent job which it. Much nicer than Rochdale, and certainly more so than Oldham (which is kinda impossible not to be)

Please no, this is another reason to go up. Losing to Bury away in the FA Cup seemed to be an annual occurrence a few years back, and we don't have a much better record in the league.

If it helps I think Bury is an absolute dive, and I live there.

You disgust me, you should be proud of where you are from. Try living somewhere like Grimsby or Lincoln ffs then you will see what a dive is mate.

Nowt wrong with Lincoln fella, good and bad areas like everywhere else. Have you been the cathedral and castle area? The area around the ground isn't the best I'll grant you.

I disagree. For a small northern town that has quick links to Manchester it holds itself up well to other places nearer such as Oldham, Bolton and Rochdale. There are bad areas like any town or city. The people that live there are questionable at the best of times but again most towns will see these people more often than in a city.
