What’s he earning a week?

No idea on wages, but he’s definitely our highest earner - £30k would be my guess.

He struggles to stay healthy, so not sure he will be sold this summer. A loan with his wages paid makes sense. It seems like he’s got a lot of interest from overseas and the national team manager has made it absolutely clear that he won’t be part of the World Cup squad if he stays at Derby.

Good news, hopefully this all goes through now for Derby.

Far from the last club who this is going to happen to. Suspect Birmingham up in the Championship as an example are an admin waiting to happen the way things are going there.

If my experience with the HMRC is anything to go by, Derby probably rang them 2 years ago to warn them but are still on hold.

Bit of a weird twist now with Rooney's agents company paying wages, although I think I read if it went to the administrators as a loan and then used to pay wages then it's acceptable and doesn't break any rules?

Good news for Derby fans, would have been a lot sooner if they hadn’t wasted so much time with Kirchner. Presume there’s going to be restrictions on what they’re allowed to do in terms of signings.

They are paying off 25p in the pound, shouldn't be allowed to pay above 5k a week or a single fee for me.

Dont think they will. We was capped at 4k and paid no fees for two years on 35p in the pound.
Good luck to them will need it no way has due dilegence been done in 10 or so days.

They can't sign the likes of Mendez Laing, Barkhuizen etc etc on.4k a week.

That sounds pretty generous, I seem to recall that when Leeds United went bust a few years ago they paid out something like 2p in the pound to creditors...that included organisations like St John's Ambulance who provide medical cover on matchdays. I don't want to see any club go bust, it nearly happened to us just over ten years ago when we owed £25k to the inland revenue and had no income due to matches being postponed in the depths of winter, but when clubs seem to have millions of debt just wiped out...that is tacking the mick.

There is a business plan in place that we have to live within, but no one really knows what that looks like - other than a comment from Nixon that says it’s very competitive for League One.

I think there will be no transfer fees or ultimately a break even on outgoing transfers, not sure. We will find out.

No idea what the likes of the players we’ve brought in will be on, but at this point the only thing we can derive is that they are within our business plan and spending restrictions.

I don’t think anyone has any expectations, we really don’t know how we will look going into the season. Therefore, I think rude awakening is a bit unfair.

I’ve never watched League One football, but from the outside looking in, it’s been a good breeding ground for talented young players to get their first experience of senior football. It’s a league that is clearly lacking in investment, the average wage is said to be less than £100k a year which obviously is going to impact on quality overall as players can sit in the reserves in the championship and earn more. The top goalscorers last season came from a player who had 8 goals in 75 Championship games, the other is a player who scored 15 in 73 between Scotland’s top two divisions.

Whilst, I appreciate that this season is going to be tough as we’re essentially in a full rebuild under a new manager with a new team and under new ownership. I doubt anyone will or can argue that the standard of League One is very high. I don’t expect to be promoted or even finish in the playoffs, but I do think we will be in a position to be competitive in games once the season starts.
