In FM... what are the key attributes you look for when searching for a new assistant manager?

Also, do you tend to build your own backroom staff team or make do with what's already there?

Cheers bud, will take a look. I've rarely focused on staff (other than hiring scouts with CA/PA high).

I always build my own backroom staff.

At lower league, I only tend to have 5 or so (assistant manager, coach, fitness coach, GK coach and physio) and at higher placed teams, there are usually quite a few freebies that are better and cheaper than those already at the Club.

Yeah, you have to build your own. Even if you can only have one coach part-time I want them to be as good as they possibly can. Once you're at a high enough club I want a minimum of myself, an assistant and seven coaches, to do one category each.

In an assistant I basically want someone good enough to be a manager. Massive attributes on the right hand side and good in at least one speciality to coach. Often they get paid more than me.
