If I get the chance it's a place I'd like to go to.

I don't think a FA cup tie from ten years ago was really playing on my mind when thinking of who I'd like to see come up.
Sunny afternoon at plainmoor followed by a night on the town and throwing up in the marina, the perfect football away day.

That was when you were a proper club

I know you’re on the wind up, but ironically this is the closest we’ve been to just being a proper, sensibly run football club pretty much in living memory.

I wouldnt like anybody to come up this season as it isn`t a whole season, with teams like Dover unable to complete through no fault of their own.
This is obviously nothing to do with the way the Vale are disintegrating!

Barrow seem to lose a lot of games 1-0 with late goals.

Torquay for the booze (and locality) and Chesterfield for the bitter petty squabbling amongst they myriad of midlands teams on TFF.
Would be great for this place if us, Stags, Chestefield, Notts and Lincoln were all in the same division again.

Chesterfield are too busy cherry picking Gloucester finest to play against us anytime soon.

Nope, the Conference is the sacred heartland of the East Midlands Mini-League. We've already bought our ticket down there. You lot next season. Lincoln have also got a ticket, but they've got on the train at the wrong side of the platform.

As opposed to 07/08 when you wanted to go down? Nobody wants to go down there Conker, we just end up there.

You’ll win more games after 2/3 seasons and you will be skipping about in joy.

Only really took us a season to get going down there. Hearn v Green was our second season down I think. Didn't finish that high somehow, but we were decent.

Sutton United pissing it, could be over 10 points clear if they win their games in hand.

Assuming Vale will still be in League 2 next season (which isnt a given), I am always selfish in these situations. I am always selfish in these situations. I want to go to as many games as possible. I only go to away games that i can get to within 2 hours, so Wrexham, Stockport, Notts, Halifax and at a stretch Altrincham.

We are winning very ugly at the minute. I'm just waiting for the inevitable tumble for form to kick in. We've won 4 in a row though and unbeaten in 6. Not a bad time to start a run.
Being a negative Yorkshire man we have no chance :bg:

Working on the principle Sutton will likely go up which isn’t too bad having an away game in London I suppose.

Notts away would probably be my favourite of the possible options purely because it’s a cracking away day. Stockport could have been interesting if they hadn’t sacked Gannon as that would be the first time he would have come up against Vale since leaving but that won’t be an issue until they rehire him for the fiftieth time at some point.

I want Wrexham and Stockport to come up as they will be chucking huge wads of cash at it so I’d rather they be in here doing that rather than against us in the pits of despair league.

Sutton was in Greater LONDON last time I checked and low and behold, it's still there. ;)

Could be a big derby next season if Wimbledon go down - isn't their traditional rival Sutton Utd?

We’ve only been in the same league as Wimbledon (either incarnation) for one season since World War One, in the 63/64 season, thanks to the joys of pre-Conference Non-League Football. There’s more of a friendly relationship between the clubs tbh.

the other way of looking at it is this;- get Sutton and say Altrincham to come up and 2 extra ex-EFL clubs in the National league might increase the chances of 3 up 3 down in future.

Not a bad idea, but why not go the whole hog and say bottom six relegated top 6 promoted
Would get rid of some of these who are just happy to compete in lge two year on year

Just had a look at Conference table and see that 5 of the 7 top teams were formerly in the EFL. The other two teams look good for promotion.
Sutton with 56 points and two games in hand of rivals look strong certs for the one auto promotion place.
Best current form is with Halifax. Promotion would be an accomplishment for this phoenix club, that was only formed in 2009.
They have a decent ground and good crowds but alas they have B2TF as main forum spokesman, and he makes Masai sound like a tame pussycat.
Wrexham and Stockport are both in good form so I'd be happy to see either of them promoted.
Former league leaders and early promotion favourites Torquay have fallen off a cliff. Down to 3rd in table and 19th in current form. They will have to wait for at least another year before returning to EFL.
