Well after remarkably scoring in 3 succesive away games and even more remarkably winning 2 of them we go to high flying Wigan who last week were unable to beat a shambolic Crewe side. The game at VP was the best of the season by a mile and Wigan were my pre-season fancy which probably explains why they are only in the play-offs. Presume we go unchanged after a good performance at Donny on Tuesday. Still baffled how Yates has wormed his way back into the side and fear another contract in the summer. Realistically i can,t see us getting anything but lets attack and show some intent. Prefer to lose 5-2 than the usual 1-0 to a goal in the last 20 minutes as per 90% of away games. Looking forward to a good day out maybe 1400 following but i,ll go for a 2-1 home win with an unprecedented away goal for the 4th game running. Not sure if ex Vale legend Francisco Junior is still on loan at Wigan but i remember his 54 minute Vale career with fondness.

We've generally upped our game against the so called bigger clubs and expect a good performance like the one at Coventry... with our new found positivity and if debutant Kennedy can put in a good performance like last time then there is no reason we can't go and get something.

Pressure is off a little but we have won 3 and drew 1 in 5 (should have been 4 wins had we not ballsed up Bradford) so plenty of reason to be confident.

Poorest half of the season so far. Yates hasn't turned up and we are unusually static.

Up against it now. Stupidity from McGivern and the referee who's been superb in the Wigan midfield was always going to produce red. Some really bad performances today and should be ashamed. A rare away trip for me and today shows why. Diabolical

Two words. Predictable. Boring. Were we ever going to get something out of that game?

Even when Yates turns up he's shite, not good enough for this level. He was done like a kipper over and over all game. We deserved nothing from the game . And don't get me started on pages subs. [emoji80][emoji80]

Went to the game today (ticks off a local ground for me). Have to say Vale were diabolical, conversely, Wigan were impressive (although one may lead to the other) and must be pushing for at minimum play-offs (yes I know they're top 4 now)

Our home record is superb (might even be the best in the league now with Covs slide), it's just away we are dire!

I haven't seen a decent performance by us this season, but I've only been to about 6 games!

Back home, waste of money and a 200 mile plus drive to watch that horror show. I can take losing and against Wigan with their budget there's no shame in that but the manner of the loss was unacceptable.

Yates should never play again after today, why is he in ahead of Purkiss! He got nowhere near his man nor made any attempt to even put him in the stands.

Duffy has been a revelation at the back this season but today his own goal set the tone for a horror show. Inniss and Streete should start Tuesday.

Grant... The player ran the show against Wigan at VP, best player by a mile this season and very few better in the division... Today was lazy, never put in one tackle, neither did Foley and the times Wigan players were allowed to run 40-50 yards unchallenged was unforgiveable. How we can play so well with the in the face high press football four days ago and then put that embarrassing show on I don't know.

The lads went in some ice chamber a couple of days ago... Exposed to -140c apparently... I don't think they'd thawed out judging by today.

Reminded me of the shocker at Chesterfield last time we got close to the top 6, we've grown a nasty habit of these performances lately mixed in with good form around it, wasn't at the Millwall and Exeter debacle so lucky I only had to endure today.

Furious and a massive, massive reaction needed Tuesday.

At least Inniss is back in the side. The only even slight positive.

Can i just apologise to Wigan fans today. No doubt you expected to go to the ground today and watch a football match. Unfortunately that was not the case and you had to watch a procession instead.

Side note the ground was decent, the away bar was nuts! Massive venue and more akin to a night club, assume it's used as a wedding venue looking at the decor.

Truly horrific display from Adam Yates, made Wildschutt ? look like Messi. Wigan mullered us, happy to get away with 3-0. The penalty tackle / shove was total ineptitude from McGivern absolutely diabolical. Cracking day out, good atmosphere, some friction and edge to the game. Pity about the 90 minutes ruining the day , AGAIN. If i turn up tomorrow and find out pre-match that Purkiss is not recalled i am not going in. Call me a shite fan but i refuse to watch Yates pinching money week after week.

no dispute the lad is quality but by same account be amazed if he has been up against a worse right back ( excuse for right back ) all season. Wigan champions elect which was my tip in August. Can only comment what you witness first hand, fair play to Burton but think they will fade, Walsall not sure as don,t score enough bar Bradshaw. Wigan and Gills to get automatic.
