Losing £600k a season and the prospective American investors have withdrawn and are asking for their £500k back which was provided as a loan facility, by the end of this calendar year.

yeah, I don't quite know what went on there. Not that long ago we were told we were close to breaking even, we cleared a load of debts with some player sales, cup runs and sell-on fees, and then these Americans came on the scene who had previously invested in Derby County.

There was also a local businessman who was interested in investing but the club wouldn't give him the time of day, then after a while of being given the run-around he pulled out.

Meanwhile we find out that the Americans have provided a 500k loan secured against the ground - which technically the club isn't supposed to be able to do. Then they pull out. All a bit of a mess really.

I think I'd probably rather be a vaguely sustainable bottom tier club than chase the dream for a season and be millions in the red when it all goes tits up though.
