Today the club was sold to supporters club.
McGill has paid 1.65 million in advance for 10 years rent and leaves assets of 4.2 million I believe.
A bright future hopefully.

1.65 in rent for 10 years for 10 years of shirt sponsorship supposedly.. His name and the banter era goes on for a little while longer.

But liking the new guy already with what he's saying and the interaction he has with the fans and players (men and ladies teams) already.

Will McGill still be a supporter and attend matches?

Didn’t turn up for many games when chairman but can see him turning g up for big games.
His son plays for Airdrieonians.
Must admit seems like a new beginning new chairman seems to be doing everything MCGill didn’t do,communicate with fans.

Bus stop outside the ground goes into town and station. Hope there's no traffic and that there are actually some buses waiting for fans at full time... Buses have been hit and miss last season especially for night games when sometimes there have been no buses or just the one to take fans back into town.

The busses back from our game with you were an absolute disgrace.
Hundreds of fans lined up with the promise busses were coming. Only 1 arrived.

Ended up missing our train home as we had to wait for a taxi and then buy new train tickets.

My advice would be book a taxi after the rush out the ground has been done, give yourself enough time to get to the train.

York City chairman wants to hang his head in shame if what I'm reading about the way in which he treated and sacked Askey is true. Disgusting cretin.

From JA’s own words. I believe him 100%. Very disrespectful to say the least, he and the York fans for that matter deserve better.

100% believe Sir John, hes a very dignified and honest bloke.. Awful way to treat a manager, especially with the promotion and easily holding their own in the NL.

Are you fan-owned now and is your chairman a fan?

Think the Fans Trust have 49% and the new bloke has 51% (So he basically can do what the hell he wants).

Seems like another idiot at York at the helm.

No idea what the crack is at York, but it does seem the chairman is a bit of a tool.

Obvs we know JA very well from his time at Macc, and I've no doubt he'll get another decent job at NL level.

Any idea what has gone on at York? Seems the new guy now wants out but not clear from the Trust statement how much it would cost for them to become fully supporter owned or even if there is the desire within the fanbase or potential future income stream to enable that to happen. Unfortunately we haven't crossed paths since our game just before COVID struck but hopefully they can get this resolved and move forward
