This'll be the 4th and final fixture between Yeovil and Carlisle this season, and despite beating them in the league, plus knocking them out of the FA Cup (eventually), I think Yeovil will fancy themselves in this one.

As unimpressive as we've been in 2016, Yeovil have been terrific, and aren't far from securing their league status for another year despite a worrying start to the campaign.

We'll be without Alex Gilliead who's on internation duty this weekend, though our squad has been boosted with 2 new faces today - Louis Pedro and Alex Stacey. I'm hoping they bring some creativity into the squad, but our forwards need to find their clinical finishing from earlier in the season.

I reckon we'll draw this one, 1-1 or 2-2, but a defeat is just as likely.

Pedro hasn't travelled with the squad (according to someone), so may be Monday when he makes his debut.

I'm hearing Zoko is touch and go whether he's playing due to injury.
Love the guy, but I hope he doesn't play. I said when yeovil signed him that they'd stay up comfortably and it's looking like they will. He's a phenomenal talent, as good as anyone in this league on his day.

Unless there's a good reason for it I'd find it very odd if Pedro hasn't travelled, the guy should be starting based on his trial matches. With Gilliead gone I would like this team:

Gillespie
Miller Atkinson Raynes Grainger
Joyce Kennedy Smith
Hope Ibehre Pedro

No defensive responsibilities for the front 3, just unleash the new boy and see what happens. Only a good win would get us back in contention for the play-offs so we may as well go for it.

No point settling for a point at this stage of the season.

As mentioned above the man himself looks set to miss this one, a massive blow as he's one of our most influential players. Walsh serves the first of his 3 game ban and so we look light in midfield, and due to Fifa incompetence (shock) we're without a right-back - would be good news for the world beater Pedro I've heard about.

Prediction - Jabo by KO in the 3rd.

We need to get international clearance for Pedro, that'll be why he hasn't travelled I guess.

We have international clearance. That was all sorted yesterday.

But he didn't travel with the squad yesterday and didn't train, so unless he's travelled separately, he won't be featuring today.

Could be he's considered short of match-fitness, but you could be right, I'm sure there's plenty of other instances where a newly signed player is travelling separately for various reasons related to the fact there's a lot of things need ironed out once they've signed for the club. Could be that since this is first time in English football it was felt playing Friday and Monday would be too intense an introduction to a busy schedule he won't be used to.

As expected, Pedro not involved as he didn't travel. Hopefully he'll be ready for Monday.

Stacey and Smith start.

That could be 4-3-3, but most likely 4-5-1 with one of the midfielders pushing up to support Wyke. Hopefully the 2 new loan players have a good game, but I don't think we'll get the win.

If Pedro isn't Messi in a costume then we won't win another game.

Can't even be arsed with this season anymore. It was over once we avoided relegation and were out of the FA Cup.

Roll on the summer.

5 draws in the last 6 games...

I fear we'll be hammered by Bristol Rovers on Monday, we're struggling to create chances at present.

So we would somehow have to win 6 of our last 10 games to make the play offs I'd say. But what can we do to turn this crap winless team around? Only one thing we can do..

Release the Pedro!! :woot:

Ha, just shows how bad it's become when the only thing we can look forward to and get excited about is the debut of a hyped up trialist we've signed who know one has ever heard of. Well like daviejones commented above, Pedro will have to be some sort of exceptional player for us if we're to do anything for the rest of this season.

He probably won't even get picked against Rovers, probably go with fucking hopeless Hope again.

Keith Curle has accused yesterday's ref Kevin Johnson of being biased towards Yeovil and said he knew he would be when he heard his Bristol accent before the game. What a joke that man is.

He'll be in the shit for that i imagine, according to the paper this morning Curle said he came from Somerset and accused the ref of giving a foul every time Carlisle crossed it into the penalty area he gave a foul against Carlisle, he even said the ref gave a foul even before 'carlisle took a free kick

The ref yesterday was a complete and utter twat!

I would not be surprised if he was a Yeovil fan in disguise, the worst was when our striker was fouled but the ref played on only for the linesman to flag offside a second later, so you'd think the ref would blow the whistle and give us the freekick for the original foul before he just played on. No he didn't, he gives the offside.

Where do they get these refs from? I've never known anything like it, oh and MrGloverLover, Keith Curle is no joke. He speaks truth.

I wasn't there, but a mate who was there said the same thing almost word for word, and this was before the FT whistle so can't have copied Curle's assessment.
Also someone on the CUFC forum reported similar.

Yeah I've heard plenty about yesterday's ref, and from people who usually accept things like this happening. Our commentators were complaining all match as well - obviously some bias from them in there as well but again they're usually pretty lenient with this sort of stuff.

I'm not sure where all the complaints are coming from to be honest, yes there were a few 50/50s that went against Carlisle, but they were so overly - and unnecessarily - physical that most decisions were correct. I can't remember any affecting the outcome bar stopping momentum anyway.

After the farcical Jabo decisions in the FA cup I think we were owed a ref that actually protects the players anyway.

Very impressive turnout from the Carlisle fans, feel sorry for them having to negotiate the M5 and M6 on Good Friday for that garbage match!

Yeah this is fair enough. They say these things level out over the season - I think the Jabo clothesline will need to be counterbalanced by several more awful performances by the ref.

Wouldn't take what Curle says too seriously. He loves having a go and probably partly in jest seeing as how Curle is from Bristol himself.

According to Radio Cumbria the really frustrating thing was that had Asamoah (think it was Asamoah) not been fouled then it wouldn't have been offside as the microsecond delay caused by being fouled was the difference between a perfectly timed pass beating the offside trap, and a pass that came too late allowing the defenders to play Jabo offside.

:fl:

The statements here are just laughable. As it happens the last but one game he reffed that we were involved in he gave the opposition two penalties!

Levelling it out for you then?

I wasn't there but there's rarely this much criticism for a ref from our fans so I'm inclined to agree with them. It happens though, don't think Curle is unaware of the fact that we've had refs give us decisions this season so I would think he said it partly in jest.
