The Morecambe staff haven't been paid.
Anyone on top of possible disciplinary repercussions or more knowledge about what's going on / is likely to happen?
I hope we go into administration, its the only way to get rid of the owner who is single handedly destroying the club I love .I know its not right but apparently the players have said they might not play tomorrow and I can't blame them ,we need this parasite owner out of the club .

Really feel for Morecambe. Excellent club who really did improve on and off the pitch soon as Adams came in. Gates up massively and got to the third tier. Such a shame that someone wants to run them into the ground. Very good awayday too even if we go there when its bastard cold every year usually!

But, having lived in Macclesfield for the past few years and remembering them going on strike 24 hours before a crucial game against us which saw it postponed, I can see alarming parallels, and we all know how it ended up for Macclesfield.

Fingers crossed it doesn't come to that. But I do fear for Morecambe next season. Budget will probably be at levels Bentley had, if not worse. Lot of staff behind the scenes have fucked off, I've seen that the manager may walk after tomorrow. It's going to be an almighty slog next season for the club.

Thought this was relevant to the EFL.

So we now see why the National League decided to get into bed with the Premier League over replays. Looks like the PL have outmanoeuvred the EFL and found a new ally they can send money to to keep them in line.

The National League though, good grief. Amateurs doesn't come close to describing them. Whine about their schedule being too packed, now want to insert a tournament where they will add 3+ games to the pre Christmas schedule, when they already have so many fixtures to bring in. It's laughable.

I mean, when are these fixtures even going to get played? Non-League teams already have FA Cup replays and cup competitions most midweeks in the first half of a season and the PL U21 teams have the 3 EFL Trophy games to play, plus some midweeks are a no-go because of international breaks. What a load of nonsense this is.

So are the Under 21s going to pull out of the EFL trophy and play in this lower down instead?

I think that's a dog rough decision by the NL. What a soulless competition that will be, absolute zero people with any interest in watching that.

Sutton and Crawley charged by the fa over the contretemp at the end of the game last week.

A bit odd. Not really any dodgy tackles or scuffles during the game but suddenly handbags were swinging at full time.

Congratulations to Macaulay Langstaff for finishing the League Two top scorer for season 23/24 following his impressive 28 goals.

That's the back to back Golden Boots following his recording breaking 42 goals last season in the National League.

Well done Macca

Question.

If we signed him, would you be more gutted than if he went to a Championship club?

Only if you paid less than a Championship club.

He deserves to play in the Championship in the very near future so Wrexham are definitely an option but I'd doubt Wrexham would go for him all he does is score goals.

Will anyone match our asking price?

Doubt we're in for him, we need a striker who scores when it actually matters.

Can't imagine it'd be difficult for the NL to be buttered up either! Whilst the league pyramid itself is getting more professional the people running it can't organise a piss up in a brewery. Last time they got given some additional money in the form of Covid support, we all know what happened there...

They're as self interested as the PL are.

Back to back to back, I think - believe he was top scorer in NLN the season before as well.

Good. Always thought you'd be more interested in the top assiter than top scorer in this league now you are promoted.

That's a hell of a lot of games that don't matter :2thumb:

Or the glory days of winning the League 2 title twice since Sir Charle's wonderful wonderful winning goal.

Not sure we had a open top bus parade either time but times have clearly changed :cool1:

Out of interest who does get your humour? Have fun in League One

Not sure how Demetriou ended up in the EFL team of the week and Nevitt didn't. Mickey wasn't awful but didn't have his best game, and was guilty of a few bad errors. Nevitt worked his balls off and got us the equaliser to guarantee the playoffs.
