You would rule City out? I think they'd be the club most interested. They need more "homegrown" players to fit the quota and have pretty shit depth on the wings. A new manager seems likely, and I can see a big squad overhaul there with Yaya, Dzeko, Navas, Milner, and more all leaving. They need more than just Silva and Nasri as attackers to complement Aguero and Bony. I wouldn't be surprised that if Sterling and Walcott both refuse to sign new contracts, they both end up at City.

Pretty much agree with all of that

I just have a feeling City won't want him, and if they did I have a feeling he won't want to go there to be a bench warmer and play the odd game. Then again, an offer of £200k a week can turn anyone's head I guess, especially if the agent will get a fair chunk and will be in his client's ear regardless of what is best for him.

Do you not think he'd get into the first team regularly at City? I find it hard to believe he wouldn't.

Surely he'd go straight in ahead of Navas on the right wing.

Sterling would not be a bench warmer at City. Navas is useless.

Sterling would be a great acquisition for any side. When does his current deal expire? I imagine he will dig his heels in and try to move if Liverpool fail to qualify for the CL

Isn't being paid £200k a week at a club in the Champions League the best thing for someone who aspires to be at the top of their game?

Sterling leaving Liverpool will be the worst thing for his career, but the best thing for his wallet.

Depends where he goes. The problem is, at Sterling's age, players often don't realise there is a difference between the two by making an assumption that a club able to pay top whack in terms of wages would automatically equate to career improvement. And, as I touched on above, money-grasping agents have only made this worse in the last few decades since having one has become the norm.

He'd be in direct competition with Oxlade-Chamberlain and Cazorla to play with Giroud, Alexis, and Özil. He'd get plenty of game time assuming he's the one on form.

Will be disappointed if he ended up leaving. He has huge potential and he's nowhere near the finished article, his finishing and end product in particular needs working on.

Probably due to the Prem having fullbacks who can defend

This. The only modern day footballer who didn't have an agent that I can think of is Paul Scholes, and he stayed at United for his entire career. I very much doubt he regrets it.

Pretty sure G.Neville didn't either. They wouldn't regret it because they were playing for their boyhood clubs. Sterling has no allegiance to Liverpool and could easily go to another club for more money unless he can get Liverpool to cough it up.

What is Sterling's best position. I used to think he was a winger but hasn't he been used in a number of roles this year?

He's probably best as a number ten, but maybe not good enough to be first choice there by most of the clubs that might guy him.

With his speed, agility and technical ability he's perfectly built to be a wing forward imo. He can stretch and draw defenders going wide creating space for his team mates or can just as well cut into the box.

Yeah I think going forward he should be looking to be a finisher of moves as well as a playmaker/winger. He has the talent to become truly world class.
