We haven't - we were pretty much always in the same league (this one) as Barnet when I was younger, always seemed decent.

Remember the season we went down going to underhill and having a joint demonstration with them - us over Haslam and them with Klunthous (forgive the spelling) which was interesting.

There are lots of fans on here though which is good - no offence to Cheltenham but they didn't have many. If Bristol Rovers came back up it would be good - their fans are always decent in person and on here too.

My last visit to Barnet was a few seasons back, you had lost your first 8 games and we rolled up to town on a Friday night. It took me over 4 hours to get there as there was an accident on the M25. I had to run like 3 miles across town to try and get there in the pouring rain. Near the ground I tried to run down that big grassy hill and gathered too much speed and fell down most of it to the shouts of WANNNNNKKKKER (deserved).

Missed the first 10 minutes and we lost 4-0. Edgar Davids playing was my highlight. Standard away day under Aidy Boothroyd.

I was at that game, got the train and was stood in a near empty away end right up until kick off, then it just got packed out of nowhere.

I think our fans were twats the day you relegated because of big Barry and him running down the touch line in the cup. Anyway, it's a game with a bit of spice which is always welcome.

I don't really remember your fans doing much that day. I was just depressed and I couldn't believe what had just happened. Oh well, we are back now.

Welcome back Barnet, hope we're not playing you for obvious reasons, but if we are it's another game to look forward to.

We have took plenty of stick off Barnet fans over the years, starting from the Barry Fry game, so it was pay back time. Don't give it out if you can't take it !

I was at that match as well and I don't remember the stick. I think we were too wrapped up in our feelings, which were a mixture of crushing despair and relief.

We can take it alright and I'm sure we will both be prepared to dish out\ receive it in the near future.

What surprised me at that game was that you needed the result to make the playoffs yet for some having a pop at us appeared to be more important. Still I guess there are always those who get more kicks out of others failure than their own success.

Unless its relegation of a direct rival, ive always found goading or chanting to fans that have just been relegated about as low as you can get football wise.

Even before the relegation fixture I've always held a strong dislike for Northampton. They just come across as a scummy little club with self entitled fans. Fuck 'em, I hope they go down next season.

Other rivalries to re-establish:
Luton - "The Cauldron of Hate" match
Stevenage - "Destiny will always take over"
Carlisle - "Champagne-Gate"
Bristol Rovers - The MASSIVE club bitter about Akinde fixture

We were in the Playoffs by then anyway

Until he gets injured..
We wouldn't have been relegated two seasons ago if he had been able to play in more of our matches that season.

bloody hell there's loads of them...
We're a massive club, but not as massive as Bristol Rovers, or Luton, or Northampton, or quite a few more. OK, maybe we aren't massive but we get noticed.

You know you've reached the bottom when you get described as a "scummy little club" by a Barnet fan !!! :gr:

Didn't realise Northampton Town had such a huge history that L2 would be their bottom!

Welcome back ... and thanks for Mark Byrne. I reckon he was our player of the season this season.

He was a decent player for us but probably not used in a position that catered to his strengths.
I'm still a bit sad about Yakabu leaving us as I thought he would be a one club man for us (and he's a nice guy).

Anyway, I'm hoping we can keep up our marvellous head-to-head record against Newport which currently stands at played 3, won 3, scored 17, conceded 3!

Really?
He was alright for us, but I never really rated him.

The Yak's out of contact this year. He's been excellent for us. He would be even more valuable if he wasn't made from balsa wood, glass and polystyrene. His injury record is a concern. If he moves on he will still do a job for 30 games a season.
