We're hoping the Walsall players are all starry eyed about Wembley on Sunday evening, as I don't think Gills will be after Thursday's match. Having won two in a row I have a little more hope than I would have done a month ago, but I'd still settle for Saddleradd's 0-0 at this stage given the...
I agree Cider Army. Would have been more interesting and exciting to see a team achieve something they've never done in their 127 year history, as there was a chance PNE could have pulled it back, whereas Bristol City's route to the final is a forgone conclusion.
Well done to Walsall anyway...
I wish Walsall all the best and understand how nervous you lot must feel if you've never been to Wembley. We at Gills were like that when we got through to play Man City in the 1999 play off final ('kin Mark Halsey!!). We then went back the next year to beat Wigan to get into the championship...
What's happened to Walsall? Earlier in the season you were on the play off fringes, now you're down with Gills just above the relegation places and I hear you've lost 6 on the trot.
We've actually won 2 on the trot for the first time this season, which get's me thinking we might get something...
Our 'Last Waltz' anthem differs from Mr Humpertink's one with the original line 'Just My Tears And The Orchestra Playing' being replaced by 'Just The Gills And The Rainham End Singing'... then it finishes off with the Hey Jude chorus. Been singing it for forty years, soar throat now.
Down from Championship: Millwall, Charlton Brighton ideally for the local derbies, plus we don't like 'em anyway. Up from league two: Wycombe, Luton, Southend, Wombles for more local derbies. League one is awful for us for local away games.
I can't believe they're showing it live on Sky, what's the point? There's no way we're going to win by 3 clear goals, I don't know of anyone who's bothering to go to Bristol, and at the end of the day it is only the paint pot trophy. This time next year nobody will remember who's won it.
Cruising at 2-0 then a penalty to them that was very debatable from which they scored after our keeper saved it, worse to follow when their player bundled over our keeper to put it in the net. How on earth a foul wasn't given I'll never know. Was so relieved to get the winner after that...
Well done Mr Sludge, you've reminded me I need to do the same as I've got a few S/T holding mates. Never had a S/T as I had to work some Saturdays. Don't want to come across as ignorant, but I wasn't aware there was a Gills Corby branch, how many of you are there? I was aware of the west country...
I tried contacting you on Monday on exactly the same subject as TFF_V but I've had no reply. You posted my blog under David Norley, which I asked if you could change to Daveyjames, as it was before, but it's still there listed as being from David Norley. So in the light of your reply to TFF_V...
