Why on earth is he still at Liverpool? He must be nowhere near the first team, so why would a 37 year old be playing in the youth team? Why haven't they released him many years ago? Is he a mate of the owner?
Yep. Any team with even a semi competent forward line probably walks away from that game with 3 points. We scuff so many shots, sky so many headers and put in so many terrible crosses, it's amazing that we've scored 2 to be honest. Frustrating to once again be beaten by a side who probably...
Dodds sounds like Crosby mk 2. He wanted us to pass, pass, pass. We absolutely dominated possession but we were trying to play like Man City with poor league 1 players. It was absolute madness!
He's a good player and he's probably worth a bit more but I'm in agreement about it being a bit of a panic buy. He's basically had half a good season at league 2, yet to be proven in league 1 and has jumped at the first sniff of more money. This is not a career move, it's purely financial...
Knob head ref spoils another Vale game. What a surprise! We would have won comfortably otherwise. If it's true that these decisions even themselves out, we're going to have a hell of a run of victories!
This forum was abandoned for the other one because nobody could access it for about 6 weeks...and it isn't the first time. Significant lack of care from the site owners has seen most people shift over.
Yeah, I've not seen a game that one sided 2nd half for some time. If we'd have started with the formation we finished with, we'd have won, nevermind drawn.
We simply can't play with 2 in the middle...it encouraged Rotherham to come on to us and the 2 goals were incredibly poor from our end...
As much as I like you guys, I just don't see it. You were awful in the 2nd half of last season and from our own experience, it's difficult to turn that around. Signings have been solid but unspectacular.
You won't go down but I'd be absolutely amazed if you're anywhere near top half. You'll...
Rumours our end of Michael Smith. I can't see it myself...surely he'll have Championship interest and wages must be in 5 figures per week. You never know but it just seems highly unlikely.
Fornah is a decent player. I also like Campbell...that's going to be a decent midfield at this level. Some of the other signings are a bit hit and miss but you're never going to sign 10 stellar league 1 players unless you're Wrexham or Birmingham
Think Huddersfield have probably made the best signings but question marks over their manager. Plymouth will be up there I think...they've still got the basis of a decent team. Luton obviously with a good budget should be up there ditto Bolton. Stockport will be strong again. I expect...
Seems like it would be back up to Stockley which wouldn't be a bad thing. We're not going to get an amazing striker to come in as back up and if we wanted someone to be much better than Stockley, you're looking at big bucks. I think our main money should be spent at centre half.
I'd say budget is slightly less of a factor in the Championship because there's quite a number of clubs with sizeable budgets. The lower you go, the more prominent a decent budget becomes. Not always of course, but in league 1 last time, Birmingham and Wrexham would have had huge budgets...
Generally, the biggest budgets tend to be promoted from league 1. You'll undoubtedly sign a couple of duds but your vastly superior budget to most of the rest of the division will ensure You'll have more than enough to get promoted.
Rumoured that we were potentially in for Ihiekwe but I'm pretty certain that we wouldn't offer 3 years to a 32 year old...seems a little bonkers if you ask me but clearly they just want to build a strong side and worry about the future later. Seems a bit short term but good luck to them.
Oops...I've only just seen that he's gone! I'm sure they'll make a sensible replacement. Last time they were in league 1, they seemed a pretty well run club who were on the up....can't see that being derailed completely.
Also just read that their budget will be double what it was last time...
Never heard of him but you'd imagine he'll be of a pretty decent standard. Think Plymouth might do the best of the relegated sides. They're not a basket case, seem pretty well run and have a decent manager.
I definitely underestimated the league last time we came up. The actual general play isn't hugely different but the difference in both boxes , especially amongst the top 10, is huge. We regularly got punished by the opposition who actually only had 1 or 2 clear cut chances in the whole game...
