Stones v Alty saw two fairly toothless teams, playing some decent football but neither looking likely to score. Stones were building a head of steam before a challenge from behind by Connor Kirby saw him getting a very nasty leg break. Ambulance took well over a hour to arrive after he was taken...
Might well be the case but we have found that older demographic has stopped buying tickets/going to games. Whether it’s the notion of buying tickets in advance/online or they are concerned about health issues , not sure, but sales have fallen through the floor.
Not overly helped that you have to buy online as well by 12pm. Not sure what the point of making it all ticket for away fans is, especially a non Belt.
Didn’t Brennan say, when he came into Barnet, that he had a black book of players that he had scouted whilst being away from the game that he would look to bring to HA8. I am sure that he said there were seventy odd players he was keeping tabs on.
That process worked well when he took over us...
We were after him, even recommended a Norwich player to join us this season, but we were also told he was still injured. Upto last week he was still injured. If he’s fit, he’s decent.
Another way to look at it, and what we have done very well, is to get supporters of pro clubs to come and watch us when they aren’t playing. We have the pro club discounted season ticket or match day ticket admission, and we get lots of Chelsea, Watford, QPR regulars coming through the gate.
When I first started supported the Stones in the mid 70s , it was always Barnet, then migrated towards Enfield when you also had the mini Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal rivalry between us, Enfield and Barnet.
The manager keeps saying it. I don't know why, but that isn’t to say we didn’t have decent spells in the game and could/should have at least equalised. Whether you would have upped your game had we done so, is a different matter.
He was right about your crowd being very quiet though.
