That's Matt Robinson. Been outstanding the past 12 months.

National League Fixtures - 30 and 31 August

Vilhete is my favourite player. How he got overlooked by so many Barnet managers I have no idea. Can play anywhere, great feet and great work ethic. Him coming in off the left for us works a treat. Robinson has developed into one of the best midfielders in the league. Breaks up the play...

National League Fixtures - 30 and 31 August

Nothing special from us today but so, so comfortable which is a great sign. Barnet have 0 threat. Kewell won’t last long there. As I said Saturday, we are right in it this season.

Match Day National League fixtures August 28

No reason why we can’t if we get a bit of luck with injuries. The midfielders can all break the lines and we have 2 genuine goal scorers up front. Game today was won off the bench by having the option of Weston inswinging from the right. We never had them options last season. Inevitably we...

Match Day National League fixtures August 28

I’ve spent years on here saying how rubbish we are. For once it’s nice to say that we look very good. Going to stick my neck out and say based on the first 2 games, we will be challenging for the title. Firmly inserting us into the mix with the big, big spenders.

Match Day National League fixtures August 28

Intrigued to see if we can back up our performance against Stockport at home to Bromley. It's their first game of the season so hopefully we can catch them a little cold at the beginning. Expecting Bromley to go well this season so 6 points after a difficult looking first 2 games would be a...

    Podcasts

Sometimes it's tricky trying to find good coverage of our league with the main media outlets often giving us brief (if that) air time. However, found a podcast last week that seems to tick all of the boxes in terms of very good professional and fan view of the National League. Also very good...

Was kind of them to lie down for the rest of the match also.

It’s going to be a struggle watching Brundle then for you guys if there’s no intention to move him further forward.

National League opening day fixtures - 21/08

This is the problem with Brundle. His movement is awful. Play him as a 10 and he'll score a lot of goals Lampard style. In a midfield two, you're just asking for trouble. At times last season, we played Dean Rance and Brundle together. No wonder we were shocking for 2/3s of the season.

National League opening day fixtures - 21/08

Well everyone. The secret to beating Stockport is to press them high. As comprehensive an away performance from us as I can remember. We must have had 15-20 chances compared to about 5 from them. Little shown from Stockport and then the errors started creeping in once 2-1 down. Rusk under...

Nothing special unfortunately. Games pass him by far too often.

The Vanarama National League Preview 2021/22

Final boost for the blog before tomorrow in case anybody hasn't read it yet. Please feel free to share it with friends or on social media as well. I had a personal target of 5000 views beforehand (which was ambitious considering last year's one got 2700). So far, I'm on 4555 views which I'm...

The Vanarama National League Preview 2021/22

Had a few comments on Mullin. Can’t argue at all with them. He may well smash it. I just have a sneaking suspicion that Hyde may well take his fair share also. Same could be said for Madden (Quigley) and Tshimanga (Rowe) I suppose but it’s all gut feeling isn’t it. Just as easily someone like...

Great preview that Jacob. Laughed at the 'Congolese Batistuta'! Very similar predictions there as well.

The Vanarama National League Preview 2021/22

Thanks fellas. Buzzing at the feedback. I did send it to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney on twitter - be amusing if I did get a retweet there (very much doubting it!). Cheers those who've posted to their club messageboard for me. One Chesterfield fan had the cheek to call me a 'geeky...

The Vanarama National League Preview 2021/22

Thanks for the awesome feedback so far fellas. 1000 views in less than a day so I'm pretty chuffed at the mo. Keep pointing any errors out to me. A friend informed me earlier that I'd imported Terry Butcher instead of Tim Flowers into Solihull's managerial history. The fact this was pointed...

The Vanarama National League Preview 2021/22

https://leewilsonfootball.blogspot.com/2021/08/the-vanarama-national-league-202122.html Annoyingly I can't sticky this thread anymore so forgive me for giving it a few boosts over the next few days. The big preview is up above. It may have the odd typo in but as people point them out to me, I...

Ultimate Player Rankings - National League 21/22

Callum Reynolds at 86 is very, very generous. His ego would happily have him at 96 which often leads to him performing like a 76.
