Thanks! By the way, Crawley Town fans tend to embrace their tinpot status. You'll even find a CTFC flag bearing the legend, 'That Tinpot Club from Sussex.'
A few months ago I wrote an article for When Saturday Comes about my experiences of (then Non League) Crawley Town's trip to Old Trafford for the Fifth Round of the FA Cup. But they only needed half of what I'd written, so I thought that today was a good time to publish the rest of it...
I'm afraid Luke, that with perhaps one exception they've proved to know nothing about the club whatsoever. So long as some of the backroom people stay, there shouldn't be an issue.

A little something I wrote for When Saturday Comes on the subject...
I wrote this article for Late Tackle last year. The Sussex FA PA Announcer is perhaps the worst I've heard in 42 years watching football...

I'm all for anything that improves the atmosphere, but l I'd like some consistency. I used to be chair of the supporters trust at Crawley, League and Non League, and we had a supporter with a drum. We'd end up asking permission to bring it, have permission granted, and then have it denied entry...

The Clash of the A27 Titans! Featuring Lancing FC, Chichester City, a cast of around 120- and a spaniel- in the SCFL.
I had course to speak to Burgess Hill Town General Manager John Rattle last week, for the Non League Paper and Non League Daily, about progress on the field and the need for ground improvements off it. Afterwards I went to watch the Hillians play Kingstonian, and I've now written a rather longer...

An extended version of something I wrote for Non League Daily a couple of days ago, featuring the proposed Whitehawk name change, and the associated fall-out.
A tale of St Francis Rangers of the SCFL Premier Division (currently GD -149), which should prove that however terrible you might think your team is at the moment, it could be worse!

Every single week. It wasn't quite so bad when he was at Lewes, but this season...oh my. Still, he thinks he looks nice. Some of the fans last night asked why he'd come dressed as Colonel Sanders.
As we approach the Whitehawk v Dagenham and Redbridge replay tonight, a few words written after the first match...might help you understand the singing you'll hear later!

Victory in the Vase...and chips with everything- featuring Eastbourne Town, Greenwich Borough and a moment of culinary excellence. http://www.townsendaround.co.uk/football/victory-in-the-vase-and-chips-with-everything/
Eastbourne Town v Greenwich Borough for me on Saturday; I'm covering for Non League Live and the Non League Paper. Looking forward to seeing Gary Alexander turn out for Greenwich.
Going home by ark: a half match report featuring Hastings Utd, Merthyr Town, and the FA Trophy. I had a number of words left after I'd written the report for the NLP, so I've put them all together here.

Indeed it was abandoned at half time, but I still had to write 450 words for the Non League Paper and still have more notes that I didn't use, so I might well write something anyway- particularly as the sub ed at the NLP made alterations to my report which I was rather annoyed about!
In the Sussex Senior Cup, Hastings Utd knocked out a strong Crawley Town team away from home. Mind you, no matter how strong a team Crawley put out, they seem to be allergic to this competition.
Thanks! Will be covering Hastings Utd v Merthyr Town in the FA Trophy this weekend for the Non League paper, so will probably write something longer afterwards.
Football tends to become all encompassing. Finding the time? You just do it, and it takes over your life. But you're absolutely right about recognition. We'd have no Non league football without volunteers; and that's not an outrageous statement, it's just a fact.
A tale of lower league football, featuring Haywards Heath Town FC, Alton Town FC, The FA Vase and the cast of Hotel Transylvania...

I only write for enjoyment. I hope you...
