I’ve seen what it takes to compete at this level and we have a lot of the key ingredients (including a middle-of-the-pack budget). Don’t forget that Orient were the longest-tenured League One side before the Italian Nutjob torpedoed us. We didn’t put out our strongest side even once this season...
Shrewsbury Burton & Cambridge definitely making a strong case for extending the relegation zone to seven places this season.
Good win for us after a successful season. Keeping Dan Agyei (and others) fit next year will mean we’ll be a real nuisance for the big clubs.
For the first time since our brief sojourn in the Natty we’ve actually reduced the away allocation today. Understandable as I doubt many Fleetwood fans want to come and watch themselves get relegated, and there aren’t exactly many in the first place.
Eh, we’ll invariably roll over for you. Our injury situation is beyond a joke; we literally only had three first choice players starting today. Very little chance of 7 of the missing 8 being involved for the rest of the season.
Another two players carted off with injury for us. It never ends. That result basically secures 10th or 11th which is amazing from Wellens considering the shell of a squad he’s been working with. Apologies in advance to anyone hoping we might nick something at Derby.
Under contract:
Sam Howes (GK) - Been the backup all season after being plucked from non-League. Conceded all four shots on target he faced in his one appearance. Keep I guess.
Omar Beckles (CB, captain) - Not really up to the job ability-wise at this level, but invaluable as one of the few...
Hope you’ve done it. One of the best away days in League One with fuck-all riding on it. What’s not to like? I’ll be there. Just hoping for an entertaining game.
