I suppose we should have a thread for this as it's a local derby. Having said that, there seems to be a distinct lack of interest compared to the Spireite and even County games, although the away end will no doubt be full. I am assuming it will be on as the snow seems to have mostly cleared.
As...
We never quite know what to expect recently, particularly away from home. Our performance has certainly been 'hit and miss'. Keep expecting the long awaited 'gel' time to be over but we seem to be capable of putting in dire showings when least expected. Hopefully we can move on from this pattern...
Old boys fired up, baiting the Stags fans. One or more of Green, Palmer, Rhead nailed on to score one or more. We will lose this, mostly due to momentum. Probably 3-1?
I suppose we know what to expect from Wycombe away from home. That's not a put-down by the way, their usual spoiling tactics seem to be reasonably successful. Is the Beast injured? This will be a tough one even without him.
Moved to 1pm ko due to the Grimsby fans being extremely hard. Impossible to predict result at this stage but, once again, I don't think we are capable of keeping a clean sheet. On the other hand, we are always capable of scoring. Another draw for us?
With the signing of Kane 'The Messiah' Hemmings, expectations may be a little too high for this game. This will be one of the toughest games we have all season and Luton will finish in the top 3. Should at least be entertaining but I would be more than happy with a point at this stage. 2-2
Thought this match deserved its own thread as both teams are MASSIVE. We should be winning this one but I don't think it will be as easy as some seem to think. Forest Gump have some decent players. Also, Collins making a return, hope he gets a warm welcome.
Massive game for both sides. Realistically we need a win to keep our play-off hopes alive. Any Stags fan will agree, our problem is the lack of clinical finishing. We've only scored 19 away from home all season, lowest in the division. Wycombe have a good defensive record at home, only conceding...
Grimsby in relatively poor form with no win in last 4, Stags in very good form (if you discount Tuesday's bizarre 4-4 draw against Stanley) still unbeaten in 2017. Nailed-on home win then. Accy had scored 1 in their last 8 away games I believe. Anything could happen here, hope it's a good atmos...
Accy are a bit of a 'bogey' team for us, we never seem to beat them. Not sure of the stats but I think our record against them is pretty dire. Having said that, recent form points to a solid home win. I know the run has to end sometime but there are no signs of that at the moment. 2-0 Stags.
It appears Morecombe have more to worry about than this game. I hope they can overcome their issues off the field as we don't like to see any team fold. We should win this but probably a close game. 1-0 Stags.
I'd like to think we could get something from this as we haven't been too bad away from home. I suppose I'm always a bit 'glass half empty' this season so I suspect it will be a resounding home win, especially with Portsmouth's home record.
We all know Newport are expected to struggle this season but we rarely start with a win. I hope Murray goes for 2 up front rather than the isolated Green set-up. Unfortunately probably the latter so I'll go for a scrappy draw, 1-1.
