I suppose we should have a thread for this as it's a local derby. Having said that, there seems to be a distinct lack of interest compared to the Spireite and even County games, although the away end will no doubt be full. I am assuming it will be on as the snow seems to have mostly cleared.
As for the game, it is now almost impossible to give any sort of prediction with the managerial changes. Lincoln seem heavily reliant on Stags old-boys Green and Rhead (with goal-machine Palmer in reserve). All 3 will be desperate to score at the Wonk and I think at least one of them will. Hope it's not too much of a hoof-ball fest.

Makes it a little more interesting with a managerial change at Field Mill.

As for us, and as I said in the Coventry thread, we're on a bit of a mini wobble and having to switch things around far too often. Bostwick is a better option at CB than Wharton but we then miss him in CM alongside Woodyard. Wilson's injury has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works, there.

Don't see why it was made all ticket for our lot, there's nothing to be done with Lincoln. We've Chesterfield and county, they've Grimsby and er Scunthorpe? It's a localish derby but nothing more. I think it's a bigger game for Lincoln than us - though it would be damaging, we could lose, Lincoln would be further behind if they lost.

I fancy Lincoln to get something from this game, new management for us, the players might be a little unaware of what he wants, and they're hardly mugs, especially with 1800 away fans in attendance. Also, after amusingly ending their home unbeaten run I'm sure Lincoln will be looking forward to ending ours (only lost 2 competitive home games all season - to Swindon and Cardiff)

Go for 1-1

Quietly confident. We’ve seen the players removing covers from the training pitch just so they could train and then a handful of those and the new manager clearing snow and removing covers from the main pitch yesterday which says to me they want this one on. That said we usually fuck up infront of a decent crowd.

Draw wouldn’t be the end of the world but as it’s our game in hand on Wycombe it would be nice to get the win.

I do not sense much anticipation for this game from Mansfield fans, so taking away the ability to buy a ticket on the day is daft.

Exactly, I can't see more than 3500 home fans. Any floaters would be more bothered about Notts co next Saturday

Well done for bringing up Attendances in a thread that will be heavily watched by Lincoln fans, you should know better!

Think it will be more than that mind, but less than Coventry.

Doesn’t the defeat by Rochdale in the League Cup count?

Any of you Lincoln lot who are fancying a slurp pre match I’d recommend the Cockle or Bold Forrester on Sutton Road. Not sure they’ll be letting away fans in the bar at the ground and the police will probably want you in the ground drinking piss or Brunnells near the train station also drinking piss. There’s also the Railway which is near Brunnells, quite small mind. Also Weatherspoons at the top end of town.

Thought I’d let all the new supporters who haven’t been before know ;)

No, I'm wrong, there was a 3rd, Rochdale! I think martin shaw (who's our stat guy) forgot in fairness, and he's like a bloody robot with knowledge, all clubs have them!

The railway got invaded by Coventry fans (all nice like) before the game the other week, we'll have to stop staying it's open to away fans also! Lol

Odd really we appear to be nobody's local rival these days.
When I pop on the fishy or read posts from our fishy friends on here they don't see us as a local rival aaah well
Onto tomorrow's game win for Mansfield, we're not right at all at the mo.
You can have the honour being the team that inflicts three defeats in a row for the first time since the Cowleys arrived.

That sounds strangely familiar to the days in the Conference when most Lincoln fans claimed to not be our rivals each time we beat them, funny that eh?

Always seen you guys as our no.1 rival due to history, you guys are the reason the majority of the clubs in the city joined forces in 1884 to form Lincoln City to stop you lot winning the county cup lol!!!

For me I always saw our rivals as the 2 Sheffield clubs, Barnsley and to a certain extent even Leeds. I suppose it depends when you started going regularly as to who you see as your rivals and it was the early/mid 80's when I started going every week.

Hull, well we've only played them a handful of times in my lifetime and although we've played Scunny a few times we were always above them until our decline started when they went above us, so again recently we haven't played them that often.

Most of our younger fans DO see Lincoln as our main rivals I think, due to our regular meetings over the past 10-15 years but for me I always used to look on Lincoln as an annoying little brother and to be honest I actually went to a couple of their home games the first time they were relegated at the end of the 80's, when Batchy and Bobby C were playing for them (although I did go in with the away fans both times). I'm also pretty sure that if we didn't have a football club in Grimsby then I would probably support Lincoln over Hull and the Scunts, even though they are both closer to Grimsby.

Ours has always been chestefield, though would be interesting to see who our fans thought would be our 2nd rivals. County? Rotherham?, Doncaster? Either way, I'd be surprised if Lincoln even surfaced - but that could be me.

Some reckon we have a rivalry with Grimsby which I find funny.

What I find more bizarre is that, unless I've missed something, ticket sales stopped last night and you can't buy a ticket from the ticket office today or tonight. You'd have thought you could have bought tickets right up until KO.

This, as I've been saying for many years. Rivalries just depend on who you grew up watching your team against. I grew up watching Lincoln against Boston and Scunthorpe.

This conversation crops up every time we play Grimsby, mind. Dunno why.

Basically if we want full capacity, we are not allowed to sell tickets on the day. It's a stupid decision considering anybody who fancies it on the day will be refused a ticket now, mental.

Regarding the game tonight, never been so unsure what to expect due to the managerial change, I mean should he keep the same 11 that have been playing very well recently but underperformed in the draw against 10-man Coventry or change it up a bit? It's pure guesswork how the players react to the recent events.

Lincoln are a half-decent side, we are definitely better but in football it's on the day that it matters. 3-1 either way would not surprise me.

Yeah, but that involves common sense. We do brilliantly as a club across the board until it comes to tickets - and only tickets. From season ticket prices the same wherever to sit in the ground and the club being surprised why so many picked the upper west, to daft pricing for kids, to a online ticketing system which is farcical, and doesn't sell whole blocks until others are full, even if those don't want to sit there.

I stress the club in general has moved on leaps and bounds but it's a real shame about tonight. Fans did query the decision when it was made, but no-one listened

You wouldn't have said that if you'd been at Oakwell, last day of the 78/79 season.

Anyway, sorry to hijack this thread Lincoln/Mansfield fans. I'll leave you to get on with discussing your game now.

FYI it's EFL rules that dictate you must leave out 10% of capacity if you sell tickets on the day.
