Will have a go at this once pre-season underway and most squads should take shape by then. At the moment I think the three relegated clubs should be right up the top. Bolton have a great manager in Schumacher so expect them to be in top six and Reading too. Everything else haven’t got a clue.
Wimbledon it is then, another London away day.
Not sure Walsall will recover from this bottlejob for a very long time. No other way of putting it for them.
Whoever wins this it's going to be an uphill battle for them going into next season. Not least most other teams will have had jump starts on retained lists etc. Not exactly a classic this.
Not sure but nothing to indicate they’re not.
My prediction is Walsall to win a tight one late on. Wimbledon brilliant defensively but can see them getting stretched on a bigger pitch and Walsall do like to attack from wide areas.
Congrats to Charlton.
Ideally as a neutral would have loved more goals and end to end type stuff but have to admire such a good defensive performance like that.
Not an especially great watch this but have to credit Charlton and their organisation. Just looks so hard to fashion an opening never mind score past them.
Only thing have heard in relation to us is we have some interest in Jordan Gabriel who was released from Blackpool. We did have him on trial a few years back when John Askey was manager but chose not to pursue it. Mansfield and now Charlton according to Alan Nixon also interested.
I really liked the ground, the view from behind the goal is spot on to be honest. Know the pubs in the general vicinity were all home fans only but basically had a couple round Victoria then made my way on the district line from there easy enough. Believe though their matchday prices next season...
Yeah Wimbledon had the best keeper in the league in Goodman and Lewis at the back is immense despite being the oldest looking 25 year old have ever seen.
To be honest apart from the Orient-Stockport and to a lesser extent the Sunderland game the playoffs in general have felt like a bit of a...
Wimbledon or Walsall it is then. Would have liked Notts as it’s one of the best away days in the bottom two divisions but knew better than to think they’d beat a team in the top half of the table. My money would be on Walsall in the final.
If I had to bet I think the team coming up from the L2 playoffs will be the one who comes through the game between Walsall and Chesterfield tonight. Walsall have the advantage but if Chesterfield get the first goal then a lot of scars Walsall will have from the second half of the season will...
Congrats to Charlton and hard luck to Wycombe. Very tight contest but once the goal went in never seemed like an equaliser was likely.
Jones certainly wears his heart on his sleeve. Think some believe it’s performative but I think it’s just him. Know it’s been tolerated at some clubs more than...
Aye definitely see the similarity with Wimbledon. One of those for any managers or coaches watching they’ll be loving the defensive discipline from Wycombe. Unfortunately speaking as a neutral who just wants a bit of goalmouth action they’ve largely cancelled each other out.
I get it’s the playoffs and there’s tension etc but do either of these two sides fancy doing something at some point or are we just skipping ahead to pens?
Pretty watchable game and with a few talking points even if not really for the right reasons in a few cases. Have to think Stockport the happier of the two sides even with the late equaliser.
To me this is just about making sure we stay up, hopefully without some late season jitters but there’s a lot of work to do. I’m waiting on what our retained list will look like (due next week) but one area of our team which we didn’t really do any surgery on after relegation was the defence...
Disagree to a point, while nobody will run away with it like Blues did this season just gone I fully expect Luton and Cardiff to occupy the top two spots. Now they’re not bound by the same FFP rules teams in the Championship are they’ll spend what’s needed to bounce back. May well be wrong as...
