I hate this time of year. I'm not much into cricket, gardening or dogging. 12 weeks of no football.:pond:

No Olympics.

Only sailing. Music. Might buy a drone to annoy the neighbours. But that's about it. Oh there's the Fastnet, but even that's after the football restarts.

Any ideas?

Holidays, reintroducing myself to my kids (remember me kids, I'm the poor bastard that pays for everything!!), golf, love my cricket (Somerset), decorating to keep her indoors happy), BBQ's, looking forward to the fixtures, keeping abreast of signings/ departures.
Be careful with the 'drone' thing by the way, a workmate of mine is massively into it but has had a few visits by the police due to complaints. I gather naughty people are using drones to check out if houses are empty before turning them over and people are becoming paranoid about them.
Plenty to do but roll on August.

I thought she'd love that...... down the club shop. Tartan fleece rugs, Cherries Thermos flasks, Manchester A-Z, The Rough Guide to FFP (QPR Kindle edition), "Hinton Admiral Massive" T-shirts, Cherries lingerie and the special discount bin biography "Arter Tack!". What's not to love about AFC Odessa's rise to glory? Are they doing Mini Cooper swinging furry Cherries yet? They will be.

You could be the first PL club in history to be offering waitress-service half-time cream teas. With souvenir doillies.

Sailing is a lot of fun, it's what I've spent the last 2 weeks doing.

Sadly I'm working for most of the summer. Last year I went travelling around Europe for a few weeks on the cheap, I'd certainly recommend doing something like that if you have a few weeks spare. Either that or have a long weekend in Paris to watch Wolves play some of the finest non-league French opposition. I'm sure the missus would like the latter option, but I think she wouldn't be too happy if you told her you were taking her to Paris to watch football

Glad to hear the sailing's good. My lad's in the Naval cadets and off on a weeks sailing trip in July with them. Around part of the coast of Britain so it should be a good experience for him.

Graduating aren't you mate? In what?
If everything goes to plan with the rest of my work, its a masters in sports coaching, felt I needed something more than my 2:2 at undergrad.

I shall be mostly eating bourbon biscuits...

In all seriousness, I shall be spending a week or so on holiday in Barcelona with my family, applying for part time work, reforming my old 6-a-side football team and entering a couple of tournaments and as the summer draws to a close wondering what the fuck I am going to write my 10,000 word dissertation on.

I really didn't appreciate the World Cup enough last Summer - can't wait for the Euro's next year as well.

But - The Ashes is on. I'm incredibly excited for that to start, and will be in attendance of a few days of that if I have the money.

Who was it? Both Paris FC and Red Star got promoted this season and join Créteil in Ligue 2. Great times ahead for Parisian football.

I find those summers not to be so boring after all. We have the Copa America, Women's World Cup and the U21 Euros. Could be worse.

We name the teams next week I think, all that's been announced so far is that we have a training camp in a town just south of Paris and plan on playing some of the local opposition. Would be nice if we could manage a friendly vs PSG but I very much doubt we could.
