Had it confirmed by a friend of the CFC physio that Tshimanga dislocated his ankle and that it was a compound fracture aswell (open)

Apparently been penned in to be back training/running May time. So basically he’s out for season but hopefully will get a full pre season under his belt ready for next year.

It’s time for Akwasi to step up and become the main man for this team again just like he was pre injury. From what I’ve seen I think he’s gradually been getting better and better and is now performing very well. But will the goals follow the performances??? Bloody hope so

I mean thinking entirely cynically (and this is quite pie in the sky) this could benefit you long term. Get to hold onto a player who was almost certainly leaving in the summer - should you miss out on promotion this season he’ll be back for Atleast half of next. Yes there’s plenty of what ifs but I wouldn’t be too surprised to see you benefit some more from him.

Awful injury though. I would’ve been fuming if that had happened to Akinde for us in our championship winning season.

I’m just posting what the CFC physio had said. Think Andre Gomes had a very similar fracture dislocation injury a few years back when Son tackled him from behind, and he was back playing in just over 3 months so when you look at it that way the timescale doesn’t seem unrealistic.

Of course with injuries like this there’s plenty of other factors in play such as how badly damaged the ligaments and tendons are around the area etc..

Regardless, he’s out for the season, but I’d be hopeful he’ll be back fit in the very early stages of next season.

Asante has it in his locker to be the main man without doubt. He’s a different sort of play to Kabs but I can see him leading the line in a 4-2-3-1 really well actually. Concerned about Oyeleke.
