Thought I’d get a thread started for the few National League games going ahead this weekend.

Barnet vs Chesterfield
Grimsby vs Alty
Wealdstone vs Dover

We will be hoping we get 3 points with this game in hand on most of the teams around us. Getting to 1 point behind Halifax with 2 games in hand still would be good mentality wise.

Must win for Hurst.

Fortunately Alty are more beleaguered, they lose every week now after fooling people early on into thinking they were decent.

Have Chesterfield been partying all week after their heroics at Stamford Bridge? Time will tell.

They’ve not gone back to Chesterfield. Stayed in the Ritz since Sunday with James Rowe spending the £800k chelsea funds on strippers and cocaine. Tried to tempt Cal Roberts down on Tuesday at 4am in the morning but he was tucked up in bed with Burchnall.

I've lost track, are Barnet still rubbish? I'm sure Chesterfield will win 2 nil despite playing within themselves after their Stamford Bridge 'heroics' it's all they ever seem to do.

Alty are terrible at the moment, surely even beleaguered Grimsby can fashion a result against them?

I have no comment on the third game.

Think this is the game Kabongoal Tshimangoal gets back on track with... a goal. Three games without one now. Barren run. Also interested to hear if Barnet are any good now. Their defence was hilarious when we beat them 4-2 at home earlier in the season under Kewell.

They’re actually not rubbish Tbf to them. Form over the last 15 games would have them 9th and their points tally over that period is only 2 less than Wrexham. It’ll be a tough game but one I am hoping we win.

Barnet are the worst side I've seen this season, we beat them 3-0 but it really should've been 6 or 7 given the number of chances missed.

Our defence is much better now and we actually play with some method. We ought to give you a game at least.

I can’t argue with that. By far our worst performance under Dean Brennan.

we haven't played them yet, but will be alot more competitive against them that we would have been earlier in the season.

Wasn't that his first or second game in charge though? Now he's had time to implement his own style, Barnet's results have unsurprisingly picked up.

Actually it was his 6th!
I think our team was set up wrongly that day and Wrecsam brutally exploited the uncertainty we had in the middle of our defence. We had Harry Taylor as one of our CBs and a central midfield pairing of Mitch Brundle and Josh Payne in front of him.

Barnets form looks better since the new manager to be fair, might be quite a tight game

Tried that before, it was a mistake. Found them hard to target and got one too many stings in painful places

We aim to come out the other side tomorrow injury and card free. #PrayForUs

Billy's 2 years in charge at The Shay are a football-free black hole in the club's history, but he accomplished what he was brought in to do. :ds:

Looking forward to my trip to the Hive, will be the first time I’ve been there. Went past it on the tube last week from Stanmore into centre of London and thought it looked a decent set up and tidy ground

We’re looking pretty strong squad wise, almost all of our defence is now back fit apart from the obvious long termers in Carline and Hollis, and upfront Asante will be bouncing off the walls after his moment at the bridge!

My XI for the game would be:

Loach
Williams - Grimes - Whittle
King - Oyeleke - Mandeville - Weston - Miller
Asante - Tshimanga

Subs:
Gunning
Croll
Khan
Kellerman
Payne

What is this madness, we’re actually able to leave fit players out the squad ??!!!

Think we win this 2 or 3-0 personally

yes, Wealdstone v Dover :bg:
I’m actually meeting a couple of Dover fans for a drink who I’ve known a few years. That’s gotta be about half your away support hasn’t it?

Looks like we are just trying to keep the score down. Starting the game without an official striker playing, but both are on the bench.

We’ve held our own this half although Chesterfield have come closer to scoring.
