Tell you what, Oyeleke has been out of sorts last couple of games since he picked up that calf injury but he was absolutely back to his best. Bossed midfield from first minute to last, when he plays well, we play well. Massively important to us
He’s our best player up there with Tshimanga. Thickos won’t understand.

Mate absolute Rolls Royce today, keeping him fit is key.

On another note, nice to see a manager speaking so open and honestly, literally just said it how it was. Think Barnet have got a decent one in him just by the way he speaks, can tell he knows what he’s on about

When I saw the goal I thought ‘Wow, we’ve missed McAtee’

But then I realised that Wooderson said he was overrated so maybe we’re actually all wrong

I think I just asked how many goals he’d scored from open play, IIRC, when Grimsby fans were saying he’d stolen Cal Roberts’ best player in the NL crown (now reclaimed)… fair play though, decent hit today!

You sure it’s not a Chelsea fan who now has Chesterfield as his second club?
Pretty sure, didn't see the Chelsea badge on his jacket, just the Chesterfield one. The sort of provincial wanker who "supports" a Premier League club from a town hundreds of miles from where he lives, generally wants everyone to KNOW he supports a Premier League club so he can pretend he is in some oblique way superior and knows more about football that the local oiks who "only" support the club on their doorstep. So yeah, on reflection I'm now certain he wasn't a Chelsea fan who now supports Chesterfield as a second club. It was definitely worth asking though, chuck. :ds:

A simple ‘yes’ would’ve done.

Have you ever posted and not mentioned this James McAtee that nobody has ever heard of?
If my club had spent millions only to be sat in 8th position and short on a McAtee, I’d be pissed as well

He doesn't get the headlines because Kabongoals always does...and I think there's only a few of us on here who really blow a trumpet for him...but Alex Whittle is definitely in the running for this title.

Finally a win, can't get to carried away though, that how it must feel being a Chesterfield fan playing clubs like that every week. Back to reality now though with Bromley and Wrexham coming up.

Two amazing goals, a first hit volley from outside the box into the top corner, 9 times out of 10 they are over the stand at this level. Maguire-Drew also showed yesterday he knows how to put a ball in the back of the net with that goal, gets better with every viewing. A peach curled straight into top corner

Vale fans must be sad. Oyeleke was permanently injured for them, but seems to have barely missed a game for the Spireites!

I don't think anyone put a foot wrong yesterday really but Alty looked poor. McAtee and JMD are gonna draw the plaudits for their goals but Taylor was quality as well. He's not gonna get goals every week but his link up and all round play is consistently good.

Having only taken 1 point out of the Halifax matches it would have been a travesty to have not taken anything there. 4 points from the last 9 still doesn't do us justice. Bromley up next and we've got some proper Kev Keegan vibes going on as we would just love it if we can beat those wankers.

He's been injured whilst he's been with us, but evil James Rowe has slaughtered some more children to get the blood for the potion which has enabled Manny to play through it.

He’s got a weird ongoing calf problem which flares up and means he’ll usually come off if we’re in control and a couple of goals up. He’s being, erm, ‘managed’.

Just seen Jeff King had said we’re the best team in the league by a country mile ffs Jeff leave stuff like that for me when I’m chatting inebriated bollox.

He was our best player in three spells with us, and a major reason why we mounted a couple of playoff challenges. If he could stay fit and put a long run of games together he’s easily a L1/lower end Championship player.

Gonna regret this aren’t I. Need to stop drunkposting.
I much prefer people post what they REALLY think and not what they think people want to hear, thinking of no one in particular here, ShayShite....... :ds:

Have the other Town fans seen that angle of McAtee's goal taken from the Main Stand towards the Pontoon side? I've only got it on WhatsApp but it's lovely, can hear how sweetly he hits it.

Alex Whittle has been phenomenal. Made second choice last year to Joel Taylor. Made second choice this summer to Miller. Took his chance when Miller got injured and hasn’t looked back. I could see him being the sort of player that stays at the club for years and years.

I'll sure he's great, but we've got Jordan Davies who plays in a similar position. It's other areas of the team we need to improve.

I feel like I have to put this in every post- it's January. Surely we all know this league too well by now to put too much store in league placing in January?

Very high praise, but you know what, I think I agree. The Barnet fans I spoke to after the game picked him out as having bossed the game and said they’d love a player like him.

But as we’ve said plenty of times, managing him and keeping him fit is the absolute key.

R.e Whittle… What. A. Player!!! As my old man would describe him, a ‘proper player’. 110% week in week out, he’s like the second coming of super drew talbot!!
