A full compliment of games scheduled to go ahead so far.

Home to Gillingham for us. We have three new cases of Covid in the squad and I'm not sure whether the other three (Walsh, Jones and Hopper - basically the spine of the team) will be back in time from their isolation periods. Anderson and McGrandles will be in the squad, which is a boost at least although I doubt either will start.

We can be a bit stodgy at home at times, or we make it difficult for ourselves and conceded first (Shrewsbury, Wigan and Posh games spring to mind) and the last thing we want to be doing is conceding first against a Steve Evans one. We don't have a too good a record against his sides full stop to be fair.

Bristol Rovers at home for us. I probably know the least about Bristol Rovers in regards to the league 1 clubs. But they are struggling in the league a little so with our form unbeaten in the last 8 and the fact we’re pretty solid at home, we have to be looking at getting 3 points here.

hoping we go for

Richards

Johnson
Beckles
Offord
Pickering

Wintle
Lowery
Finney

Kirk
Mandron
Dale

With Ng’s transfer to Cardiff imminent I’d like to see Johnson play more. And move Offord into the centre. Also hopefully Lowery is fit to start as he changed the game once he came on at Plymouth, by far our most creative player.

Away to MK Dons tonight so points will be tough to come by. Hoping we might have 1/2 of our 1st team full backs back in action, ditto our goalie although Hilton on loan has done ok. We are in a bad run and need to find 3 points from somewhere, perhaps a belated Christmas present eh

Imps P - P Gills - waterlogged pitch.

I don't think we'll be too dissapointed with this as squad still suffering from Covid and gives another 1 or 2 chance to get over their non covid injuries.

As ever Mr Evans very nice about us in the press - the feeling is not mutual and can he please do an interview without mentioning budgets!

Home to free scoring Rochdale tonight, not heard a thing about JJ’s injury, looked like a pulled hamstring min 6 weeks out on Saturday, no replacement for him or Whiteman as yet, Copps, Gomes and Wright all out injured so looking very threadbare, we can’t keep a cleans Sheet, Rochdale can’t either, they also can’t stop scoring so it’s a nailed on 0-0.

Kell Watts our Newcastle loaned is looking forward to tonight’s game at Sunderland. Afterwards i think those in the squad with northern links are staying oop north for Saturday’s FA cup tie against Sheffield.

Rochdale started brightly and then turned into back pass United for 20 mins, we scored and they still back passed, very strange and dull game

Unusual for our pitch to waterlog but Sincil Drain broke its bank and that reaches the pitch if it's too bad. The heavy rain last night probably tipped it over the edge, it's absolutely sodden here after pretty consistent rainfall for a while now (and the snow back end of last week melting).

Strange game at Crewe. We missed 3 or 4 excellent chances which should have made it comfortable. Bristol Rovers never gave up and I’m sure their fans will argue they should have got something from the game. However, I can’t remember a chance they created other than the 2 goals and the blatant handball.

Thoughts on Crewe. Murphy should have been on for Finney 20 mins earlier. Finney has been excellent recently but you can’t rely on him in a scrap. Also, our 2 young full backs are understandably not ready yet, especially Adebisi. Perhaps they should have got some experience out on loan? I remember Adebisi going to Leek but don’t think he was there long. Also Porter is finished. He actually did a couple of half decent things towards the end, but a fully fit Mandron would have offered so much more against their shoddy defence.

A RB is needed and a back up striker. I would argue a keeper as well, but can’t see Artell doing that.

To summarise. Take the points and run.

I new it was going to be a tough after about 10 seconds when Kirk got clattered. Rovers were very quick to press which we found hard to deal with. But the times we did beat the press they were wide open and we should have scored more in the end. Hard fought win but I think we deserved it. I agree with you about the potential signings aswell.

Too easy for us v Wimbledon today. 3 up before half time. Saw out the game and got a 4th late on. Didn't really get out of 2nd gear but could have been 5 or 6 today. These are the sorts of matches we have been dropping points or struggling to win. 6 league games without conceding now. Hull then Lincoln at home in the next week. 4 points would be a huge boost if we can keep this run going

He hasn’t done an interview without mentioning budgets all season.

Our first away win of the season! Doubts about whether the game would kick off because of waterlogged pitch. indeed, first half it looked very rough, more like a park pitch, but the second half the drainage started to do its work. Overall, Sunderland looked a bit better than us in terms of ball control, we gave it away a bit more, but they did not look so confident in the final third. I am sure Sunderland fans may feel a tad annoyed they did not get a point, I just feel for all their possession they only had me worried a couple of times.

In the past two seasons most of our attacking play went down the left. Last night we went down the right. That our wing-back of last year McFadzean was playing left back may not have been a coincidence for this tactic. I was surprised when we made him an offer for this year. More surprised when he rejected it. And gobsmacked when a big league one club made him an offer. league two is his natural standard. Delighted Adam Lewis scored on his full debut, but you do not normally expect the left wing back to appear near post on the right side.

Probably the poorest first half display from Fleetwood in a long while, shocking defending and the Dons were out of sight after 30 minutes

Second half we gave it a really good go and no exaggeration to say we could, and should have scored 4/5 goals, Vassell missed a couple of terrific opportunities but he's got good movement and think he can do well for us, in the short term we need to find a win !

I can't disagree with this. It was more of a 4-4 game than a 3-1 as we rode our luck in the second half. The Fleetwood defending (in the loosest sense of the word) was laughable in the first 30 minutes and the much vaunted Mulgrew was as much to blame as anyone. Vassell looked good at times and Madden was a real handful until he finally let frustration get the better of him and he resorted to niggly fouls. The loss of Keogh had an impact as the game wore on as the defence lost their discipline and O'Hora visibly tired.

The next five games are going to be season defining and if we can pick up 7-10 points from those games we can stop looking over our shoulder and start serious planning for a push next year.

There must be a pub quiz question following on from this match, which Dons player scored a hat trick inside 30 minutes, Joe Mason took his goals well so fair play to the lad. I dont expect other teams to be as charitable us us though. Today Sam Stubbs has permanently signed for Exeter City, I thought he was one for the future, and Tom Edwards has been recalled from his loan spell by Stoke. We need a good right back from somewhere.....I watched match on I Follow, I enjoyed the banter of the 2 commentators in spite of them being Dons supporters, dont know if they regularly report on games but they good. We have a regular who does Fleetwood games at home and you can fall asleep listening to him !

You’re lucky.
The one that does our home games is a self confessed Palace fan and he is utterly shite
