What if I saw this just last year? Btw I still have it there so I could watch again, but only keeping it for my mum to drool over really when she gets round to it.

Obviously you have to watch it from now otherwise you're disqualified from participating in the film club, obviously.

The dictatorship is starting already is it Stalin!?! :P

Ok fair enough I will abide by these rules and watch it again. :surr:

Btw I applaud the members for choosing a classy obscure French film to start with rather than a generic Hollywood big budget film, give yourselves a pat on the back.

That looks like as good a place as any to stream it - the HD quality is fine.

I downloaded a blu-ray rip of it from one of the kat proxies.

This'll be the first movie that I've tried streaming - or programme for that matter, apart from a few live matches.

Any recommendations/warnings for a novice? I was planning on trying

http://hntv.me/movies/le-samoura-online-free-iaad.html

Gonna give SALTS a try this evening.

Deadline for this is Monday 4th April. We won't usually spend that long on any one film but I've got a lot of stuff on next week.

Excellent first nomination.

Saltire's mum has it spot in - Alain Delon is a first choice specimen.

I suddenly want to buy a hat, raincoat and take up smoking again.

9/10

Not a classic
Bit of a bog standard one for me, that. Tottering between the divine (the quite lovely minute or so of audio when our rather uncharismatic protagonist is locating his car) and the irksome (bug behind the curtain on a peg ffs), I didn't think La Samourai really offered too much until it reached it's subway finale. The Parisian seedy underbelly was left largely unturned for an hour and twenty minutes. I wanted to see the city in the 70s, not sets that could have been made in/for any city. Not saved by the cast, either.

To maximise enjoyment, watch it while imagining yourself being trapped inside a small cage with Stevencc and Saltire's mum.

I don't think Saltire will be very happy when he reads that.

I enjoyed the image though.

You watched the wrong film SoC. We're watching Le Samourai not La Samourai.

I've finally managed to find a good quality version with subtitles. Had a short debate with myself over the possibility of learning French for this one. Decided against it in the end.

I joined this club to watch a film not to read a book. Say no to subtitles.

I'm not sure if I'll get to it tonight (last chance). I've had half a life to live this week/weekend, with plenty of distractions, and on the road for Wigan v Warrington tomorrow, followed by Stanley v U's and Barrow v Braintree.

The HNTV site and links were full of garbage (I haven't needed to bother with adblockers in my online life so far) but I'm not sure if that's normal.

Yeah, I'm not in this little film club thingy you lot have got running, but I hadn't seen this movie before so dl'ed a copy from, I suspect, the same place Steven has. Only got to some 45 mins in before I fell asleep (I was very tired, honest guv), but it looks like it's a good movie so far. Will finish it this evening hopefully.
