Yes, you're right, we're headed over the Atlantic to participate in a bit of roughing up as we try our luck in the NHL! We will be using the 12 games taking place on Sunday (our time) and these vary from very early morning (midnight) through to some games on Sunday evening. All of these can be used.

This is a challenge that considers just how much you want to risk. You essentially have to pick teams that will win the games. In the NHL there are no draws (all matches are concluded on the day be it in overtime or through penalty shots). You get to decide how many teams you pick in different 'groups' and if all the teams in any of your groups win, you score the amount of points corresponding to the amount of teams. I.e. 4 teams = 4 points. You may pick any number of teams including 1 if you so wish but if you pick 4 in a selection but only 3 win, you score nothing.

Team Gretzky get 5 groups, Kahn 4, Kournikova 3, Owens 2 and Tyson 1. So for example, Gretzky may go for:

1. Carolina Hurricanes (if they win, 1 point to Gretzky)
2. Montreal Canadiens, Washington Capitals (if they both win, 2 points to Gretzky)

And three more groups of selections....they could pick 5 teams separately to accrue 1 point at a time should they wish given their advantage, whereas Tyson having just one pick may have to pick multiple teams to try and be competitive.

You can put the same team in more than one group but obviously this could be risky.

Will you go hard or go home? Will it pay to be bold or conservative?

Any questions do ask because this is maybe a bit more complex but I hope I've explained it well enough.

Some early carnage as Winnipeg fall 3-0 to the flyers leaving Gretzky hanging on for dear life! If Nashville don't turn around their one goal deficit in the final period then it's a blank for the team in front!

Washington Capitals equalised with 0.8 seconds left on the clock to give them a chance of an overtime win.

The Hurricanes have beaten the senators in the other completed game.

Capitals win on pens to give Kahn a big edge. The Rangers lead 2-0 but there's still a while to go there. Nashville are now 2 down so it's looking like a nightmare wipeout for Gretzky. Kournikova taking second as things stand, but they cannot win.

The Blues add a third against the Predators and barring a miracle, all the hard work from Gretzky has not paid off...

Gretzky pick up nothing BUT much rests on the Penguins who have just started their match. If they win then Kournikova pick up three points. If they don't then it's not a complete disaster as all the other four teams will pick up three points I wasn't expecting to have to use this rule for a four-way tie for second (with 0 points) but I did say any ties and all teams would get the points so got to stick with that.
