You have all been taken as tributes from various areas of the forums to take part in an all vs all tournament, where the last man standing shall gain eternal glory. Or you know, the forum equivalent of eternal glory. In the following days you will train yourself in several disciplines to increase your survival chances and increase your odds of being the last man standing. 29 of them… 1 of you… will you be the one?
The rules will be explained as they become relevant as will the explanations for each stat and what it does for you. The speed training will be coming up shortly, so expect more information on that soon.
May the odds be ever in your favour.
Rules.
To start with, you will all randomly be assigned to a spot on the map.
The game will run on a game day cycle, with each game day lasting roughly 24 hours (with deadlines moved to where is most suitable for me). On Each game day, you must make choices of what you want to do with that day. For example, you can:
Move to another square.
Rest to recover stamina.
Eat.
Drink.
On the surface, this is pretty much all I need you guys to do each day. You do all of this via the Hunger Games PM’s I have sent you, and as always, any requests to do these sorts of things via posting it in this thread or via other PM’s will not be counted.
So lets look at those things in more detail…
MOVING!
Let’s look at that map again (which will always be at the top of the OP, and you should refer to in order to make sure that you know where you are going!)
Each game day you may move an amount of squares equal to your “speed” stat. So if you only have 1 speed, you can only move one square per day, but if you have 3 you can move up to 3 squares per day. If you were in G3 and wanted to move to H3, you would do this by saying, in your thread:
Move from G3 to H3.
It must be done via this format. This is because it helps me find where you are quicker. If you simply say “move to H3” or something, it will not be counted. If you had a speed of 3 and wanted to move 3 squares, you could say “Move to G3 to J3”. Though bare in mind, just because you have a speed of 3, you can still move only 1 or 2 squares if you wish.
All movements must be horizontal or vertical, as well. But if you have a high enough speed, you can still move diagonally by moving 3 squares (so if you wanted to get from G3 to H5, that would be possible).
At the end of each game day (after the deadline), I will look at everybodies ending positions for the day, and then one of several events may occur…
1) You may land on an item square! This is the main goal of the game and the thing you want to hope for the most! This is how you come across weapons, food and items for use.
2) You may come across a wild animal. You can hunt these animals by entering combat with them. It will be your Fighting skill (plus any hunting skill you may have) vs the fighting skill of the animal. If successful, you will be able to gather nice amounts of food this way. However, it can be dangerous!
3) You may end on the same square as another player! If this happens, there will be a fight. More detail on fights coming later.
Should two players go to the same spot as an item or hunting opportunity, the players will first fight, with the loser going back to where they came from and the winner gaining the item/getting the hunting opportunity.
Also, stamina comes in to play here. You use 10 to move, and 20 to fight. Resting, however is also important. Each day you rest (by, preferably, saying you want to rest in the PM, or failing to send a PM by the deadline) you recover 40 stamina.
TLR: Each game day, PM me (by saying “Move from *current location* to *intended location*.
MAP!
So yeah, that map. Let’s have yet another look at it.
As a key:
The top left is a thick forest.
The top right has a volcano. You cannot enter the square N1!
The bottom left has a swamp.
The bottom right is a mountainous area. You cannot enter squares K11, L12, M11 or M12!
The thing running through the map is a river, the a lake starting at i1. You need to use this for water, try to not stray too far unless you get a container you can hold water in.
The middle square, H6, is the CORNUCOPIA! This tent building has a lot of great items in there… but you can be sure that a lot of people will be interested in it, so it may be very dangerous around it.
FIGHTING!
When two players end a game day in the same spot, they will fight one another. Fighting in this is a little different from TFF Wars, for those who played that. Your fighting skill stat is the limit of how much damage you can do. So if somebody with 5 fighting skill comes up against somebody with 8 fighting skill, the person with 8 fighting skill has potential to do more damage than the other is even capable of. However, the person with just 5 can still get lucky.
You will randomly do an amount of damage between 1 and your fighting skill limit.
This is where weapons come into play… weapons can increase your maximum fighting skill!
After a fight, the following things happen:
The winner: Does 1hp of damage to the loser. If they manage to land a killing blow, they will be able to loot the corpse and take any items they want from them. They will also receive access to any items or hunting opportunities that may be present at that location.
The loser: Takes 1hp of damage and is forced back to the square they came from. If they run out of hp, they are killed!
If it’s a tie: Both players are forced back to where they came from, but nobody takes damage.
In a situation where more than 2 players land on a square, the highest rolling player will win the fight with all others taking damage. You could score multiple kills with this situation! If more than 2 people are present for a fight and two or more people get a joint high score, they will roll again to decide a winner.
TLR you each score between 1 and your Fighting skill + weapon score vs the opponents fighting skill + weapons. Highest score wins.
A FEW LAST BITS AND PIECES:
Stamina: You use up 10 for movement, 20 for a fight. Resting restores 40. Everybody starts at 100. If it reaches 20, you cannot fight (so will lose any fight). If it reaches 0, you cannot move.
Hunger. You start at 100. Lose 10 per day. When it gets down to 50, you lose 25% of your fighting skill. When 20 or under, you lose 50% of your fighting skill. When it reaches 0, you lose 75% of your fighting skill.
Thirst. Similar to Hunger, but replenished via drinks instead of food. You start at 100. Lose 10 per day. When it gets down to 50, you lose 25% of your fighting skill. When 20 or under, you lose 50% of your fighting skill. When it reaches 0, you lose 75% of your fighting skill.
Oaf Farce Count: None at all. What? Really. None. Shut up.
