Sympathise with you.

We are just emerging from 3 years of that.
Good to see you’re on the up again.

The issue we have is we don’t have the fan base to sustain a turnaround. Our fans don’t protest, they’ve just stopped going. The move to the Hive was the catalyst but behind the scenes it’s been rotten for years. This story today is an absolute disgrace yet I’m not even surprised by it. The same man threatened to sack everyone the minute covid came round.

Staff at the end of the game saying “read the daily mirror”.

Truly appalling response from the club and some embarrassing quotes from TK.

“I have not spoken with the team at all and am not aware of any direct “termination” threat to the players.

“However, it is worth noting that the players are contracted under the standard FA playing contracts to participate in football matches, so I would assume that any threats not to play would be a breach of their contracts and would carry heavy sanctions from the National League.”

Why bother with the latter part of the comment if you aren't aware of any threats?

Considering TK has been on the board of both the EFL and the NL, it is a very strange last paragraph and one the PFA may look at.

So if TK is to be believed (which is very rare on past experience) he must be aware that the players contracts are with the club and not the league.

Fair play to Barnet in carrying out an investigation which appears to have been completed Saturday. Then suspended a player for questioning an act of racism, but don’t put out that press release until after the accusation appears in the public domain.
What a club.

Absolutely shocking, but your team put on a good performance tonight, so hopefully you won't lose the bond between fans and players.

To be fair, with Martin the protests wouldn't have had the effect without Stan's input and backing of the fans and his views of what was going on under Phil Brown. With him willing to walk the walk and not just talk the talk. We are really starting to see the benefit of his input.

If you could get some ex players involved, you never know what influence they might have, but you do need some momentum to start with the fans.

Good Luck for the future though and See you in April all being well.

What a club.
For the Stockport player to complain to other Barnet players, then something must have been said. The investigation reveals no further action is required. So, either the Stockport player is telling porkies, or this has been brushed under the carpet. While TK is the sole owner, the only table he is climbing is the rich list one. The club is in total freefall with fans dropping off, and all other clubs and players rapidly losing respect for the way they are treated. When we left the crumbling Underhill, the only revenue streams came from a dingy bar and nothing else. We were told that the Hive would change all that and in a way it has. With turnover of over 10 million a year, we should be competing with Wrexham for players, instead, we are not even shopping in poundland. The bitterness and devide amongst Barnet fans is immense and only one person can change that.

I’ve just had a look on your forum and not one Barnet fan condones the way in which this has dealt with. But if TK didn’t deal with it who made those decisions Saturday evening and on Monday.

TK knows about everything that goes on inside the Hive. I wouldn't call him an out and out liar, but he does have history about not telling the truth.

Apart from the thread that says “the embarrassment”

Have a look on Twitter. The whole fanbase doesn’t care about the result tonight. They’re appalled by our club.

Obviously I will always lean towards our player but there are a few possible explanations: 1) The gesture/comment was racist but no independent witnesses came forward and there is no video evidence so no action could be taken 2) A NON racist gesture/comment was made but our player genuinely misheard/misinterpreted it as racist 3) Our player made it up.

Sadly options 2 or 3 do happen sometimes, as with our incident at Haringey a couple of years ago

Great atmosphere,

"2-0 and it's all your fault" at the Barnet keeper
"Dennis on Fire" after the match

Great stuff!

What is the rumoured fee?
No idea tbh, given we paid £35k for Mitchell I’d assume quigley was somewhere in the range of £50k. I don’t like writing off players too quickly but his performance at Eastleigh on Saturday was one of the worst I’ve seen from a forward for us for a long time. Stefan Payne would’ve been a better option.

From what I remember of the incident nobody really realised summat was going on until the ref came over, there was lots of standing around & talking for a few minutes. Certainly no gesture as someone would've picked up on it. From what I remember there was some big bouncer-type bloke in that corner with a shirt & tie on, maybe someone else but no fans. This all means it's one person's word against another's, can't find someone guilty on that alone, but Barnet's handling of the situation is a different matter entirely.

Looks like the incident itself, as has been said, is one person's word against another, unless anything new comes to light after the time of this post.

The way Barnet have handled this is, taking the above into account like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut and it has had the fallout as described in the Mirror article and from the Barnet fans on here and imho avoidable.

As an opposite view, the posts by Nuffsaid and ForzaCounty I find so much more refreshing that the type of responses so frequently found on Twitter, the "you have abused our player and....." often with no or little actual fact, which is why I avoid twitter. As Nuffsaid pointed out, it is natural for a fan to lean towards your own players, but both the level headed and balanced responses from you both in an objective summary of options and a recollection of events are most refreshing. good on you chaps! and Thanks.

it just leaves me asking why Barnet's Management couldn't have responded in a such a manner, to the accusation and why Beebot, Beearmy and Beesting and all other Barnet fans have my agreement and sympathy with them for the position TK has put their club into. No fan wants to see their players other than focussed on their next match, not off the pitch actions and activities, we know better than most the consequences of that believe you me.

Hope it gets resolved as soon as possible for you Bees.

Bag of shite. 1-1 at home to the Muff.
I'm just glad the only controversies from our pov were 'Was the Yeovil equaliser an own-goal or not?' and 'Was Omar Mussa daft to earn himself a second booking, thus missing the King's Lynn game on Saturday?' :)

great to see the change in attitude at the club in the 2 months since Kev and the team have been put in place.

Should be a bigger gate next Tuesday 8th Feb, as it's our entry for a fiver game versus Bromley.

After yesterday's statement appeared to defuse matters, it looks like the fuse has been lit again.
