Cleethorpes Town have been drawn at home to Westfields. I think they maybe in the same Division as Hereford?

Are the early round of The Vase not regionalised as that seems quite a distance to travel?

They are, but the regions are a bit random and odd. Sometimes they just make the regions and allow regions with odd teams leaving the remaining teams to face each other... It's how we ended up playing away at Ashington when the draw was meant to be regionalised.

Remember that this season both the Vase and Trophy finals will be on the same day, one ticket for both.

Should be a good day out.

With no game this afternoon, I'll probably pop along and watch the Cleethorpes Town v Westfields game which is only a few minutes from my house.

Cleethorpes Town 2 Westfields 1.

Quite a good game actually. No score at half-time but Westfields scored a good goal early in the 2nd half. Clee equalised midway through the half and then scored a penalty about 10 minutes from time to win it.

Haywards Heath Town 1 Alton Town 0. Haywards Heath might be worth looking out for; they've a very good side for Step 6, led by Rob O'Toole who was the best player for Burgess Hill Town's (almost) invincibles for much of last season. That said, Alton can count themselves unlucky- they were on the wrong end of some rather peculiar refereeing decisions in the first half.

FA Vase Second Round draw made

http://www.thenonleaguefootballpape...mpetitions/14085/fa-vase-second-round-draw-3/

Hereford v Haughmond
Salsibury v St Austell (Semi Finalists last year)
My local side Heanor host Leicster Nirvana

While the tie of the round looks to be Worksnop v Tadcaster.

If Alfreton are away and you're not busy on the day I'd urge you to see the Heanor vs Leicester Nirvana tie. Nirvana (formerly Thurnby Nirvana) are a footballing side. It's not surprising that looking them up they are winning the UCL, just the 12 points ahead of the next team! (n.b. Nirvana have played 3 more than most somehow), and with a +35 GD. When we played them last season they were competent going forwards but not so good at the back. They seem to have tightened up a bit without losing the pressure going forwards. A good side, I'd assume they are looking for promotion this season, I believe they moved grounds in order to have a chance as they were being threatened with forcible relegation at their old place!

After beating Worthing United away on Saturday to reach the Vase 2nd round for the first time in their history, Sutton Common Rovers (who groundshare at Sutton United) have been drawn at home to either AFC Croydon Athletic or Beckenham Town. The tie is scheduled for the same day as United's home game against Havant & Waterlooville, so it's probably going to be on the Friday night.

Ahh the weird and wonderful rules of ground-sharing mean that if the team that gets through doesn't agree to move then it's your game that gets shunted. Basically FA competitions come above league, which come above local cups. Only after the competition is considered is the team priority in the ground considered (higher club first, or designated senior club if they are in the same league). If both teams in the vase tie agree to move it then it's all good for you, but if they don't it comes down as a clash and the FA will decree that it is you who have to re-schedule.

Forget that, I'm meant to be going to the Havant game.....Although I'm sure SCR will be more than willing to accommodate their generous landlords....

The point is, even if they are, their opponents have to be as well. If they can't agree a date it's automatically made a Saturday 3.00pm KO. Hopefully for your sakes it will be sorted.

Thankfully for us Wellingborough Town, who we ground-share with, have been crap this season as well as having two away draws in the Vase, the second of which they lost (n.b. the second was actually on the first Trophy date, so we would have had priority then anyway as Trophy trumps Vase).

Would have loved to but Alfreton have their first Saturday home game for 49 days on the 21st. Cant miss that one unfortunately!!

Think Heanor will struggle though to be honest. They lost heavily at Kirby Muxloe in FA Cup Qualifying. Nivrana seem an even better side. Awful draw for them.

Clee Town have drawn Racing Club Warwick at home in the 2nd Round. We're away at Eastleigh that day and I can't get the Saturday morning off work so will probably pop down there for my Saturday footy fix.

Very good draw that for Clee. Should be a comfortable home win!

Muxloe got moved to the UCL this year, so we didn't play them, but they are the team in 2nd in the UCL! They appear to have been deducted points for presumably an ineligible player, but otherwise they have dropped the same number of points as Nirvana (in 3 less games). So quite similar in quality probably.

Interesting side point, going on the UCL site to check on things, Nirvana have a player suspended for 15 games! No idea what he did.

A decent draw for us, after two away games in previous rounds at home to lower graded Haughmond. Local Herefordshire side Wellington pumped them 4-1 last weekend.

Eastbourne Town v Greenwich Borough for me on Saturday; I'm covering for Non League Live and the Non League Paper. Looking forward to seeing Gary Alexander turn out for Greenwich.

Sutton Common Rovers are through to the 3rd round for the first time following a 3-2 win over Beckenham Town. SCR scored the winner in the 6th minute of injury time, a minute after Beckenham had equalised

Cleethorpes beat Racing Club Warwick 2-0 on Saturday. I was going to go down and watch but with it being the coldest day of the year, I'm afraid the fire, Jeff Stelling and Radio Humberside's commentary of our game won the day!
