I'd like to think our 4/1 was more to do with us finally having a proven manager whose made two good signings already rather than the size of our club. It's probably the latter though.

At first glance it looks about right IMO
I would expect us to be top 7 upwards although I have no idea how Moniz will cope with this division in terms of playing style.
Its no good wanting to play the ball out from the back and "spain" teams if they are just going to lump it the other end and score.
Although he is fixing the defence already which was at fault in the 2nd half of the season. A fit Spencer (which he should be now) and we look good at 14/1 although 7/2 isn't that great for promotion.

I still fancy Morecambe as an outside shot at this early stage. Reckon Stevenage will come in soon to shorter odds, but I'm not convinced Teddy will make a success of it over there.

Orient are scarily short given they have Hendon as manager....oh....and no players.

You kind of expect them to throw money at it in January if it isn't going well though. I'd be surprised if they weren't around the play off positions at least to be honest.

Luton for me look a great shout. Already impressed with the acquisitions of Cuthbert, Potts and Mcgeehan. I think they'll bring a few more in as well and have a very strong squad on paper.

I agree Luton look a decent bet, especially if they sign a proven goalscorer instead of 30 development players.

I am unconvinced by Still though, at least in terms of being flexible enough for automatic promotion. Portsmouth are rightly clear favourites IMO.

We could do anything, probably the least predictable club in the league this season.

Don't you be tipping us as anything other than a mild irritation. The League will obviously be fought out by those with big home crowds and the biggest budgets (well that's the bookies view) so in non particular order: Portsmouth, Luton, Oxford, Notts County, Plymouth, Cambridge, Northampton, Leyton Orient, Bristol Rovers & Hartlepool (due to Rakish) are nailed on for the top 10 positions come May '16.

Extremely happy with the way our business has been done early, seems we are done and dusted so roll on pre-season. Be nice to think we might have a long overdue cup run otherwise i'm thinking it will be mid-table mediocrity after a hard fought 46 games:hypo:

You are probably right, literally anything!!! Mainly due to us doing very little so far, and nobody has any idea how good or bad Moniz is, what style he will play, how he will approach things etc. We are a mystery.

Oh anything, apart from signing a top quality lower league striker to partner Sir Jimmy of Spencer.

I would normally say we're overpriced. But this time round we're underpriced.

With Becchetti indicted by the Albanian courts and a transfer embargo hanging over is, it looks like the other option for how our season will pan out is amazing value. Lumping a tenner on another relegation.

This is the key basically. I'd hold off on betting on us until we sign some attacking players. Cuthbert and Potts look like good signings, but they improve on an area in which we were already strong in last season (at least until injuries and suspensions caught up with us).

We still need to sign at least two, ideally three, and possibly four if Cullen leaves, new attacking players in my eyes. 1 striker (2 if Cullen goes), and at least one (ideally two) new wide players.

I'm reasonably sure that we will do that, but until we actually make some signings to improve our glaring weaknesses of last season it's tough to recommend putting money on us to win the league IMHO.

If an Orient fan is lumping on his own team, then that is enough for me. Orient to go down.

Going down isn't really the issue for me, its whether or not we will have a club in 12 months to support in the National League.

But yeah, we're nailed on to go down again.

c***/crook of an owner, an awful CEO, a shit manager and a very overpaid and ageing squad.

It's always darkest before dawn, this time last year Pools had a dis interested owner, the worst manager ever, and I mean ever and the poorest squad in living memory, no surprise we were 10 points off safety in January..... Do not underestimate the power of a decent manager and 3 or 4 decent loaned platers .... .. plus a couple of teams hell bent on getting relegated ahead of you

Just whacked £20 at 14/1 with BV on Carlisle to go down. Thought I'd better get in there before we flog our best player Dempsey.

It's still pre season Dave. But as things stand once the season starts I'm going to find it extremely difficult to be positive about the mess at our club.

So far I advise Exeter at 40/1 who I really think are the standout value.

My reasoning for this is I rate Tisdale as a boss and he has acheived success at this level in the past.

Previous seasons he has been working on a shoestring budget but this year they are investing in the team as they sold their star player Matt Grimes to Swansea for £1.75mil in January.

They have signed Bobby Olejnik in goal who is highly rated in goal.
They also have Ryan Harley who has excelled at this level before and at his best is way too good for this league IMO.

Also, left back Riberio who is rated at the club has signed a new contract at the club.

Agree with most of the above and at this early stage, if I was to name the top 7 it would be:

Pompey, Luton, Exeter, Morecambe, Oxford, Cambridge and Northampton (in no particular order).

Also fancy Wycombe to be fighting at the right end of the table, providing they strengthen further.

For Barnet, I see a season of ups and downs and overall consolidation if we get the players we are after - 15th for me.

I'm really keen on Portsmouth next season, have already lumped on at 6/1. Paul Cook achieved the L2 title with Chesterfield two years ago and he arguably has more resources at his disposal this time around. Securing Gary Roberts at this level ensures one of the best players in L2 and it finally appears as though the club can start rising back through the Football League.

Add to that Lee Holmes and Tom Nichols who is one of the best young strikers in the division.

We still need to strengthen defensively and add another striker but should those signings be good ones I'd say we'd be in with a good shout.

Pompey have got every chance. Gary Roberts is an excellent signing. Can't see much value in their price though.

Our odds are interesting me a bit, looks like we may be set to try something that hasn't really been done at this level before. It could go wrong, probably horribly, but it's gonna be very interesting.

Reckon there's a few decent outsider bets so far this year. Cambridge, Oxford and Exeter look like they're doing decent business.
