I don't think any of those coming down from League 1 will be troubling the top next season, collectively they look worse than those relegated in 14/15.

I think most of those will struggle but I fancy Barnet and Colchester to finish comfortably midtable. I'm just glad there'll be a few more northern sides here next season, particularly Blackpool.

This is obviously all dependent on each club's transfer activity in the summer.

Colchester are Southern Crewe save for changing their manager each season. Inherited losing culture lasting years, inability to defend and a stupid Cat 2 Academy. We'll both struggle again.

Just think, their defence was worse than ours was this season...

Calm down lads it's hardly daft me predicting we'll do well is it?

We'll certainly be one of the favourites anyway.
He's not wrong, but being one of the favourites is no guarantee of success. The couple of seasons we've been down here, it's been 50/50 on whether teams fancied by the bookies pre-season actually mount a promotion push.

Keeping a manager who has lost 50% of his league games in the last 3 seasons and a defence that has conceded 238 goals in 3 years are under contract for one more season.

We may well survive, but we'll be bottom after 10 games I'm confident of that.

Well the last couple of seasons have both seen teams struggling early on rally, perhaps on account of having superior resources to get themselves out of trouble. Down here you'll be up against teams who have only a fraction of your resources and unless you find yourselves in a situation like York and Tranmere did where events off the field limit your ability to spend, you should rally.

If what you've all been saying is true then I can maybe see you having the worst start, being bottom after ten games, and then finishing 16th or something.

I'm honestly not sure about us, think we could realistically either struggle or challenge the top seven. Need to sign an experienced, no-nonsense centre half for one, but we've made the right noises about giving it a go next season which is refreshing enough after having to listen to how we're 'punching above our weight' for the past few years. The proof will be in the sort of signings we make.

The academy may prove more useful this season too with the emergency loans ending.

We're going to be next season's surprise package, I'm very optimistic for next season.
Not sure surprise, but considering our slow start, the January signings and good show from our kids then beating this years total is a reasonable expectation. Although I doubt we will have the same level of gifts from poor sides next year, the gap between ourselves and those below us was enormous.

Of the 4 teams relegated Donny are the only one I think will challenge the top 3/7, can't see Crewe doing anything other than fighting relegation unless they have a huge summer in terms of arrivals. Colchester will be mid table and Blackpool will get relegated unless the Oyston's go or the fans get behind the team. (Not that I can blame them for not backing them).

To put this league into perspective, we've finished 8th with a -1 goal difference and have been woeful at times considering the players we have at our disposal. - We didn't make the top 7 due to the fact that our owner is a c***, he may put his own money in, but he has been picking the team and tactics for the last 2 months - sacking a popular goalkeeping coach and ex player in the process. We've also had 4 managers this season - 5 if you include our fucking owner.

We may have a bit of money to spend - but no one will want to join us, we are a circus - Don't be suprised if we go down next season because we can't sign anyone at all or even get a manager.

Doncaster will probably challenge - They may lose a few key players though, albeit not straight away - we lost Romain Vincelot and Nathen Clarke within the first month of pre-season last year - both would've made big differences to our team had they stayed.

Blackpool - Don't think they will struggle, but like us they need to get their house in order with their ownership or they will be here a while.

I can see Colchester and Crewe both struggling - how Davis is still in a job is beyond me. Sometimes you can stay somewhere for too long and it becomes stale.

Colchesters season will depend on what experience they can sign to go with their youngsters.

Remember as well - No loan window next season, so clubs will need bigger squads. We've already signed up pur youngsters in preperation for this next season it seems.

I can't wait 10 games into the season when Davis will finally be sacked. All depends on his successor being good enough over 36 games...

Another update to the OP. 20/24 locked in for next season. Just the three play off teams that fall short and either Grimsby or FGR to complete the set. League Two looks to be very competitive next season. A number of clubs could challenge if they get their shit together. Cambridge, Carlisle, Luton, Leyton Orient, Wycombe. Not to mention the play off teams that don't go up.

This really is the basket case league though isn't it? Crewe, Donny, Blackpool, Orient, Notts County. Some terribly run teams on and off the field. Bound to be a few fireworks next season.

I think we will do pretty alright next season on the basis of this one with the right additions.

Should be a good league

We won't, we've just given Paul Hayes a new 2 year contract after he had an utter shite season. Plus we have Gary Thompson with another year of his contract another striker who had a shiteseason, fuck me even York scored more goals than us this season :ffs::ffs:

New boys Forest Green paying their new manager a cool £150k a year. It'll be interesting to see how they go on signings, invest in non-league talent or get the marquee donkeys.

Someone tell them Jon Stead is a big fan of renewable energy.

It'll be funny if they don't come up now.

It's quite stark hoe since John Ryan our previous owner left we've gone down twice in 2 years.

I feel sorry for all the other clubs with awful owners. It's genuinely upsetting.

Which they won't, as it'll be Collins and/or Morris.

We may survive based on two other teams being a little bit shitter. Club will hail it as a massive achievement, thereafter we'll have cemented our future as a L2 struggler. Ideal place to run the academy and keep fans hopes in check.

Fans to continue being very ang... ohh, cheap season ticket.

They won't go for the marquee donkeys. As far as I'm aware they've invested quite heavily in scouting/ recruitment.

Pissed myself at how fans who were so anti-Davis seemingly got won over by that Doncaster game to the point they've crumbled and paid for another one again. Mugs.

At least Morris has shown a positive style of football if the worst case scenario happened. Same can't be said of Clipboard...

It's hard to say how we will do next season. Having money to spend means bugger all, we had the 5th highest budget in L1 this season and got relegated. How budget for next season is going to be higher than last but we are going to let Fergie spend it! He wants rid of 9 of the squad that we have before bringing anyone in, I can see us struggling before Xmas

Why are Doncaster down here then if they are meant to be so rich?

How long do you think Ferguson will get in League 2 if you get off to a poor start?

He's on a one year rolling contract which will be up in October so I'd say that's how long he's got, personally I'd get shut now but it isn't going to happen we are not very proactive

I just can't believe he's still at the club.

Dickov Mark 2 how on earth are they making the same mistake again? There really is no more incompetent board in England. I'm sure they mean well but we'd get more done with a board full of snails.

Wasn't it Ryan who wanted SOD gone?

Yes but it was the manner in which it was done rather than him being sacked. There are 4 decision makers in respect to sackings/appointments on the board now and all have to agree before taking action, in respect to Diddles he survived 3 attempts to get rid by one of the 4 not voting to sack him. Again this method stems from SOD's departure.

The nature of a rolling contract is that it is never 'up' as such, surely? He's always got a year left.

True but the club has the option to terminate without compensation before it rolls over to the following year hence October is make or break time

Badly managed, it's as simple as that.

Well you needn't think you're going to be challenging in the top half of L2 next season, you start at the bottom and work your way up!
