Felt for your keeper, clearly unexperienced and can't have helped him spilling a shot and conceding after 37 seconds.

He's very young, and was signed from a North West Counties League side as a second choice. First choice keeper is IMO worse, hence him losing his spot. Defence is also very leaky, which doesn't help.

It sounds as though we failed to defend set pieces yesterday which has been a strength so far this season. I hope Scott Garner is back from injury very soon as he's been a rock in central defence. Terry Kennedy only just coming back after various knocks and looked very rusty.
I thought you looked a good team and comfortable on ball but def didn’t like ball over top, your defence didn’t seem switched on and never attacked first ball.
Ps glad that wanker Thomson didn’t play

What’s happened to Ainge thought he would be a great signing.
Have you realised Burn is not a good signing yet.

Exactly my thought's with Ainge, in fact cast your mind back a couple of month's or so we supposedly had the best strike force in this division? Apart from Brackley away it's all gone pete tong, two up top is not working. Ainge was on the bench on Saturday, offered very little as a substitute.

Once again Brackley away Burn was very impressive and decent at Southport with some solid blocks, other than that he can be prone to a few hesitant tackles. I haven't put him on the stand yet for his verdict to see whether he's shite or not, been missing the last few game's.

Btw, do us a favour and beat Nuneaton. It'll be much appreciated.

Not the best of games, but a cracking atmosphere ruined by some absolute knob heads, including one of our"fans" throwing a bottle at their keeper.
I was walking back to my car in Back Astbury Street when it all kicked off. Seemed like Chorley fans again don't like getting out-played.

Will try to beat Nuneaton.
To be honest Burn is a funny one,had some good games and some poor games but did seem to hesitate a lot.
Looking back Bensheriff with Burn/Parslow/Newton all looked crap ,it’s only since Tait has come in to partner him that he has started to look ok.

Craig King has left Alfreton and teamed up with his former manager Dave Frecklington at Matlock for an undisclosed fee.

Dissapointing as never really given a chance. Need a boost at the moment. We simply bring in some new attacking options

We have a lot of injuries at the moment, some key players could be missing for Saturday.

Ahhhh the old Timmy Harris and Marc Richards dream team back again. Look forward to long ball football, 37 crap signings and sound bites after every defeat. Your welcome to them

Chester 3-0 Hereford

Job done, nowhere near our best tonight but all important to keep the run going. Hereford were a bit better than I expected to be fair but have no idea how to win. The ending was made easy when they finally went down to ten men, should have had another off right at the end when the right back flew in with a horror. Probably would have been if the game was still competitive.

I'm not sure why the blatant two-handed push on Matty Hughes after he beat the defender failed to result in a penalty. Absolute stone wall. Routine win against a poor side who were lucky to finish the game with as many as ten men. Well done Shents as well as he was up to the one effort on target. We'd have lost that last season.

Very straightforward win, even when not at our best. Easy to understand the Hereford players putting in an effort for the new manager, but all in all they simply came across as a bunch of thugs. Hereford look a far cry from the teams I recall of old, but if the new manager is a long-ball enthusiast then he won't have to change much. Tactics tonight seemed to be to make it a game of head tennis and hope for a break. I've followed (from a distance) how Hereford have fared rising through the lower leagues, and thought they'd do ok when they finally arrived in the Conf North. Their fans deserve something better than was on show tonight.

So our league fixture with Nuneaton originally moved because of Nuneaton`s ridiculous international call ups has been moved back to the original date of November 17 on instructions from the league.

We've signed Reuben noble-lazarus. Played over 100 football league games and is only 25

I was reading at Rochdale his 11 shirt number was given to Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Reuben Noble-Lazarus wore 16 shirt instead, imagine trying to sing these guys names on the terraces in full voice.

Fellow National League Northers,

Who has been your stand out player so far this season?

For us i'd have to say Sam Walker. Signed from Salford last summer never seemed to fit into Gannon's plans and was eventually sent out on loan to Curzon Ashton.

This season has really knuckled down and worked on his fitness and it's reaping rewards for him personally and the team.

Ed Williams by a long way. Currently being linked with Championship clubs and just won potm. 7 goals in 8 starts for us.

Luke Fairlamb for me down in Brackley. Came from Rushden in the summer, looked fast but raw at first, but in a handful of appearances looks the business... and has displaced club legend Glenn Walker. Lee Ndlovu now playing as a lone striker looks a much much better player than previous seasons too.

At Alfreton it has to be Bobby Johnson signed from North Ferriby in the summer.

Was a little bit wary at first as no Ferriby player stood out for me last season but Johnson has been superb. Has a fantastic engine in midfield and is capable of a superb set piece delivery and the odd long range stunner too. Definitely destined for big things.

Too many to mention, but at a push I'd say Gary Stopforth. Best engine I've seen on a Chester player since Ben Davies or Paul Carden.

Aye, Stopforth probably.

Ridiculous footballer, selflessly runs himself in to the ground week after week. They really don’t make them like him anymore.

Wasn’t a signing that got anybody particularly excited but he’s already a fans favourite, no sign of the waning legs that we were warned about either. Burton and Roberts missing out suffering knocks so often early on will hopefully mean we can cover any tiredness that sets in later in the season well enough as well.
