Lingard and Walcott are a bag of wank never been international players, get Rashford and Vardy on to replace em 2nd half.

Is Giggs trying to prove a point in his half time analysis about his Swansea job application? I've never heard him say so much.

Stones needs to stop ball-playing while the simple thing to do is clear the ball. England's worst player so far.

Only player whats doing something right first half imo, i hate it when defenders hoof it when theres a pass on.

Not sure I agree. There is plenty of pace upfront and they all have decent movement, but there is pratically no creativity in the team. If your going to play a front three like we are or even with Vardy there, the midfield needs to be much more creative as the front three won't be.

England desperatly need a playmaker of some kind. Best we've got is either Wilshere or Barkely. I'd rather either of those over one of the current centre mids, someone that can in theory at least help England transition from defence to attack. It's not about them being particularly better than the players in the squad at the moment, they would just offer more balance.

Wilshere?
Move along folks, nothing to see here. Best leave him with Howe. Ta.

That is an amazing save by Joe Hart. Looks injured now, could Rooney do a job there?

Dier paired with Henderson does look quite negative at first sight. Not sure what players I'd use tbh.

I'd agree with that but he's too inexperienced to be taking the risks he took in the first half. His pass rate must be awful in the first half and he persists in making dangerous even in the penalty area. I'm all for passing it around but sometimes a clearance is needed.
He also made that horrible back-pass which brought the game's first chance.

Yet still an upgrade than under Pearce, and he had amazing groups :dis:

I know we reverted to type in the Euros, but in these 2 games we've looked far more rigid and unimaginative than under Hodgson in the last qualifying campaign.

Please God don't let Southgate get the role fulltime

Anybody is an upgrade on Pearce. Well maybe not Aidy Boothroyd. But 99% of managers are.

This is the type of game that makes you feel that football isn't worth watching.

At least, as always, we can comfort ourselves with the fact we aren't Scottish

Has Townsend done a Rooney? Seems to have more hair than I remember.

Hart is an amazing 'keeper when he actually has something to do.

I know that's more down to mental/concentration but I'd be interested to see other 'keepers deal with the same situation week in week out for Man City and England, it's a completely different ball game from having to constantly be on your toes in goal for the likes of Southampton, West Brom etc. It's what separates top 'keepers from average ones. See Ben Foster, Scott Carson, David James.

Unfortunately, England's #1s are constantly hounded and put under pressure, one mistake stays in the mind, a lack of concentration tars their name, yet saves like tonight go amiss in the mind.

We did the same in the Seaman/Martyn era, and longed for Tim Flowers, just because he had to make more eye catches saves a week.

I really still don't like Andros Townsend, despite now being a Palace player*
