Interesting to know from league one users why this forum is so innactive.

I have told you but in fairness I might not have used the word LUTON so you probably didn't see it. I'll try again:

most of us strongly expect Sunderland and Barnsley to go straight back up. That reduces what we have to play for and our interest. Luton, optimistic from a rare promotion and woefully naive about the standard of l1, suffer less from this and treat us to discussions about Hylton scoring 50 this year.

most clubs that could generate hangers on ie Plymouth Bradford Bristol R Oxford look shit. Fewer casual posters. Only really leaves Pompey off the top of my head.

Sunderland fans not really joining in, likely because they don't believe they've turned it around yet, they can't bring themselves to care about L1, or they don't have the internet that far north yet

After deservedly losing in the opening game we haven't lost since in the League. We were disappointed not to beat Scunthorpe at home last week after creating many chances but just seemed to be a bit short up front still - we made some last minute loan signings but they weren't able to play last Saturday.

Burton at home this weekend - a team we have played in the Unibond League, Conference, League 2 and now League 1 - the clubs have had some interesting battles over the years!

The new stand is progressing well now for anybody that has previously been to our ground and seen the old cow shed...View attachment 9532View attachment 9533View attachment 9534View attachment 9535

I don't mean to be rude, but that is quite possibly the shittest new stand ever seen at this level. Admittedly it has a roof, but at four rows deep it'd probably be cheaper just to have left it as it was and handed everyone a free umbrella on the way in.

Very well put to be honest. At least 16 of the clubs in this league have fans on here who think they're destined for relegation, it's not surprise they aren't that upbeat. The big money divide in football these days isn't Premier League - Championship, it's Championship - League One. Sunderland and Barnsley WILL go straight back up, and Burton shouldn't be too far away either although they've had a poorish start.

Half a dozen others think they'll challenge at the top end (as said above, it's quite often the newly promoted sides who underestimate the league and think they'll cruise straight through) and that leaves the rest of us arguing over who has the shittest away end (Bristol Rovers or us, FYI).

I'd be perfectly happy with a dull, mid-table season because that's about where we are right now, but it doesn't make for great conversation.

Scunny v Dale.

Quietly optimistic, since we're away.

My selection (which won't be Keith Hills!):
Norman
McGahey - M J Williams - Delaney
Rafferty - Camps - Morley - Ntlhe
Cannon - Clough - Henderson

Subs: Moore, McNulty, Done, Perkins, Rathbone, Inman, Andrew.

2-1 win (Henderson, Clough; McArdle).

Seriously, it's us. At least you can see the game from your's and Rovers'.

Fair enough - I genuinely forgot about Kingsmeadow. Think I've tried to blank it from my mind to be honest.

That's a crappy reasoning for a lack of forum activity. You only have opionions, thoughts or banter when top of the League?.......Or second

What's the capacity gonna be after that? Will away fans get any seats or just the terrace?

Its supposed to seat 1,100 apparently. The plan is for clubs with larger away support to have that stand and the open terrace and for smaller away crowds it will be shared with schools/youth clubs etc.

The original artist impression showed a much larger stand but due to costs and the owner not wanting loads of empty seats it was scaled down. Whilst not much bigger than what it replaced it'll make the ground look a lot more tidy at least...

Walsall at Oakwell on Saturday. Adam Davies on international duty with Wales so Jack Walton will most likely get the call in goal. Kenny Dougall also away with Australia and there's few who can fill in for him in the centre of midfield.

Doesn't really matter though because we have the greatest squad ever to have graced League One and will win by 4 or 5 goals with Kieffer "Shearer" Moore bagging a brace at least.

Not at all, but I think there's just a lot of apathy from a lot of quarters due to the fact that generally the exciting positions are more or less tied up by those who come down from the Championship.

Looking to keep our 100% league record intact. Shrews haven't been conceding too many goals, but not scoring either. Looks like Hawkins could be back for Saturday. Very important player for us. Gives us a focal point up top and someone to play off. Our first choice RB is back from injury - Nathan Thompson, JAck Whatmough is out, so Burgess will play. Little bit of a downgrade, but still not a bad replacement. Biggest loss will be Ronan Curtis as he's on international duty with Ireland u21. Either David Wheeler or Andre Green will play on the left. Reckon its going to be 1 goal in it. 2-1. Lowe and Clarke

That's a poor response. You don't stop talking about football because your team might not get promoted this season (6 games in). In fact I'd probably say our own club forum is busier when we lose. Your theory doesn't hold for the league two forum either which has a good spread of teams representing at all levels of that league. They have succeeded in making their forum a popular place to post.
Not sure where you get the idea that newly promoted teams think they'll cruise this division. Doubt many Coventry, Accrington or Wycombe fans think that. Which means you are having a go at us again. However if you follow our posts, you''ll find out that nearly all of us would be happy to consolidate with a mid table position with an outside chance of making the play offs, hardly storming the league.
Sure Sunderland and Barnsley look decent but leagues aren't always that predictable. Accrington promotion being the classic example, and the so called big clubs in the championship failing year on year to get up to the PL.
Football is an unpredictable game who would have thought relegation favourites Oxford would have got a point at already promoted Sunderland.

You don’t have a 100% league record.

Lesson learned lads. Don’t mention the amount of Luton content on here, jokingly or not, coz they just post even more.

Absolute fucking wall of Luton text disregarding anything that isn't about Luton and how great they are. No wonder this place is dead. If we offer an opinion we get told about Luton

Just like you don't stop going to watch your club if they're shit but oh wait attendances do drop. Maybe L2 is thriving because they don't have Luton fans making up rules and disregarding observable truths.

Well I, for one, appreciate the Luton lads' input. It's not their fault there's more of them willing to contribute to this forum. Keep at it gents.

Bit nervous about Walsall on Saturday, first team we'll have played that have started as well as us so should be a good indicator of whether we'll have what it takes to go straight back up.

We're gonna win 5-1 Saturday, win the league by default because we're massive, and then get put into the Champions League because my mate who'd never been to a football game before said it last Saturday.

Some of us are chirpy.

Fucking newbies like Luton coming up here and complaining about the level of chat.

I hope Fleetwood twat them 6-0 and they get sent back to the hellhole from where they came.

I think if our own message board was Luton Outlaws I'd be posting elsewhere too! For as many years as I can remember that place has been full of complete bell ends who do a superb job of re-enforcing the stereotype of Luton as a shit hole full of ignorant dick heads.

It's also reasonable to assume that, as Luton haven't played at this level for over a decade, they'd be a little bit proud and excited about it. That's not a dig, but an observation based on how I felt when we came back up after a long absence.

However, I still remember the Luton fans, not just on Outlaws, but also on our own message board, when they were relegated to the Conference, boasting about how they were going to "piss this tin pot league" in one season and ridiculing us for taking four years to do it. The fact it eventually took them five years to do it still brings a wry smile to mine, and many other Oxford fans faces. It may not have been any of the posters on here (or maybe it was, who knows?) but that arrogance and ignorance is why many of us view an influx of Luton fans as we do.

Those actions have done you no favours chaps.

So most of your argument is based on what you read on Luton Outlaws!:fl:
