Everyone is scared of the Grimsby hooligans.

Okay so if you'd have got back to Stockport at 10pm instead of midnight had you kicked off at 3pm on the Saturday then you'd be ready to go? Give over

First away match up north, could have quite conceivably been a four figure following on a bank holiday Monday. Will probably be a few hundred now. We've got you on Good Friday at BP in April, let's get that moved to the Thursday I say. Already getting Conferenced out of the title and the season hasn't even started.

As the Wrexham fan says, teams already running scared of the famous Grimsby away support. Obviously joking with that last comment.
This away support ?

It's a quality league. I'm looking forward to it. It would be great to get a big promotion race going with ourselves, Wrexham, Grimsby, Notts, Chesterfield etc.

We all want to go up and say we're football league again but it's not that fun in League Two. Being at the top of this league is more fun than being mid table or below in League Two or even League One.

Playing a long distance away game at 3pm followed by a home game 2 days later is not ideal at the best of times and every club avoids doing it BUT to then add a further 2 hours and 20 mins makes a bad situation a lot worse. If you really want to blame someone for spoiling your bank holiday day out then why not aim your ire at BT for not selecting an alternative game rather than us.

Have Southend asked to change their Bank Holiday game to the Tuesday night?

Surely they should be made to rest, as Stockport have now set a precedent.

Just saying like.

Of course they haven't, they want their supporters in London on the Bank Holiday, where as Stockport don't want our lot at their gaff.

Not our problem what Southend ask for. We look after ourselves.

We want as many fans as possible at games I'm sure but not at the cost of giving our players the best conditions possible to win games, stay injury free etc.

More BS from a fan of a club who caused 3 postponements last season thanks to their disregard for the Covid-19 rules. It may have escaped your notice that Southend are the HOME team and whilst I don't know the addresses of all of their players I would imagine that the bulk of them will arrive home during the middle of Saturday evening rather than the early hours of Sunday morning.

Well Southend are playing us at the Vale and we'd be mugs to agree to such a change - a more fatigued Southend side and a far bigger crowd on a Bank Holiday Monday plays to our advantage.

Grimsby have been here before so have an idea what its all about
But beware Grimsby fans the standard now is far higher than when you were here before.
General consensus seems to be that the standard overall is higher, but that the top teams aren't as strong as when we were previously down here, but yeah I'm personally not expected an easy time down here at all.

I've been saying this for years and hardly anyone ever agrees.

Our COVID postponements have nothing to do with this whatsoever. Not sure why you're bringing that up.

It’s objectively true IMO. Obviously you want to play as high as possible or else what’s the point, but in terms of pure fun and enjoyment this league is king compared to League Two.

Yep, definitely. Finishing somewhere in the 15th to 24th section of League Two for multiple seasons on end is depressing.

Should’ve got promoted then

We lucked out with the Macclesfield thing anyway so don’t play on the 28th December or Easter Monday, and our game on August bank holiday got moved for TV. So I am thinking this out of pure kind heartedness.

Grimsby are ripping up the Brotherhood charter and going after EVERYONE, the Wrexham BEEF is ticking away nicely and already starting a fresh ding dong with Stockport.

Watch out Chesterfield!!
And Torquay have that knob Danny Wright playing for them so there’s definitely some scope there too.

And I can remember a game away at Notts about 25 years ago when we had 2 players sent off by an atrocious referee so Notts can go and get fucked too. :D

Sorry, this is utter bullshit. If Grimsby were away at Weymouth on the Saturday with a 3pm KO they'd be home later than Stockport from Southend with a 5pm ko. Could Grimsby then say sorry we don't fancy Monday afternoon can we make it Tuesday night instead?

I've watched Grimsby play Good Friday, Saturday and then Easter Monday a few times. It's not the current way with players wrapped in more cotton wool but if fixtures are arranged Saturday and Monday then KO times are irrelevant, they should be played Saturday and Monday unless there is good reason to switch. If it is police advice then fine - it should be just stated as such.

What brotherhood? The brotherhood that voted to continue the season to allow Sutton to get promoted?

Rather shIt on the so called fellow brothers if it means getting out this league first time thanks.

As for the game changing time, who cares, games change all the time, all it means is less fans on Bank Holiday Monday in August. Not sure why it's causing such an uproar, those who really want to go can still go, it's just an inconvenience compared the day before.

Southend’s situation is different though as they haven’t got any travel on the Saturday and it’s close away game for them on the Monday.

People blaming us or BT should look at the league fixtures really. For the fans and players why couldn’t they make both the Saturday and the Monday games local in the first place.

And if my Auntie had…

Pretty sure everybody has one home and one away game that weekend so it’s moot point.

We're too nice/unimportant to have BEEF with.

Didn't realise Stockport fans were so touchy. I've made a note for later!

They always were last time we were here, especially when they claim they are a massive club because they had about 5 whole seasons at championship level before going to shit

I've been to watch us at Stockport a couple or more times over the years, some good, proper pubs. Stood in the open end first time and sat on a side once, might have been other visits, but I'm getting old and losing some of my history.

However my over riding memory is of an 'older' lady giving my wife and I grief in a car park after a game, she was right aggressive for some reason. Luckily we are pretty placid and just laughed at her, which seemed to make her even more agitated and her husband/male friend had to bundle her into their car before she burst a blood vessel.

It's obviously not just an inconvenience though, it's an impossibility for a lot of people as it requires time off work as opposed to a bank holiday.
